315/17/70 KO. No rubbing. No issues mounting rear tire. Factory wheel.

Great looking setup. As another Moab owner, have a question about the wheels. My factory wheels are 17x7.5s. BFG lists the wheel range for the 315/70R17s as 8-11 inches. Any concerns about the smaller wheel? Also, do you have the C or E rated tire, as I was wondering about your impressions on the ride with the Moab setup.

Just put 35” ridge grapplers on my Sahara. No lift. Nothing rubbing but I do feel a difference with the transmission. Doesn’t shift as smoothly. Also feeling/hearing a slight “rubbing” sound when driving at idle but it’s not a run because there’s no contact. Anyone experience anything like this?

Not a JL but this JT fit the Falken MTs 35x12.5x17 on stock wheels, no lift, no leveling kit, no wheel spacers. No rubbing and only hit the fender flare when climbing over large rocks at steeper angles.

This is the Sport S with Max Tow, meaning it has the wider axles with 4:10 gearing

I added some Rubicon fender flare takeoffs to help with that.

Before flares

Stock 7.5 inch wide wheels and stock suspension. Discount tire actually mounted them which surprised me. Ride perfect and balanced great. Also using stock wheels helps with the scrub radius and the steering feel. Also clears fenders best with the low offset stock wheel.

Also 37/12.5 on stock wheels as well no wheel spacers to keep the stock scrub radius and minimize leverage on the balljoints etc. :)

The 35/11.5 is also a great option for those wanting the tall and narrower look. Also less of a crown on the tire with it mounted on stock wheels.

Hope all this helps others down the road...Stock wheels 37s at 12 psi and Stock JLUR on 35s at 15 psi doing a little crawling.

Last one for reference...15 psi...this is my brothers daily driver at he has over 20,000 miles on 315s on stock wheels zero issues and never had to have them rebalanced.
