Interesting thought process! You’re probably right about more c load ranges being available in the future.

My thought process is the 315/70r17 is a big, heavy tire. In the D load range, it feels like it without being too much or too harsh. Of course I run mine 32 psi cold.
Yeah, the taller the sidewall, the larger the air cushion. I'd assume that would help to offset a higher load rating. Within reason, of course. And yeah, lower pressure makes sense as well.

This is my first jeep, first not just run of the mill 4x4, and first vehicle that I've done anywhere near as much modifications to. So, I'm still doing a lot of feeling around in the dark.

Would you mind posting a picture of what these look like when you get them on? I am now interested in these tires. I like they are only an 11.5 width.
No longer have my JL, but here is how they look on my JT. Same wheel width/offset/axle width as a Rubi JL.

Overall, I'm pretty pleased with them barring Toyo's customer service and lack of response regarding one of them being tough to balance.

I went with a kind of rare size, 35x11.50x17.

Love the look of the 35 x 11.5's. Been waiting for years for manufacturers to start making this size and have been riding on 285/75Rx17''s for years because of the narrower width and close to 35" height.
