Apologies on this if posted before, but no luck in the search. I see a lot of posts about 37" tires rubbing when not accompanied by a lift, but what about 35s? Can a stock JLU sahara fit 35s without rubbing or compromising offroad capability?

My first JL was a Sahara, 35 would rub at mild-moderate flex at times. A 2 inch spacer in the front and 1 inch in the rear cured it.

How much of a hit did you take on trading it in?
I sold it for $2300 more than I paid and then, thanks to Kim I saved $5800 on the Rubicon.
Win/win.

No, private sale.
Kim did make me a great offer on trade, but selling privately is so much easier and better $$$ wise.

Well, this is a good question. I would think on a Sahara since you don’t have swaybar disconnect you wouldn’t run going off-road. Also it depends on what you consider off-road. I did 35s on my JKU with no lift for about a month. Took it to MOAB and did some light trails with no issues.

I think if you did 35s and picked up a JL Rubicon suspension that would work fine. Would be a good look too...what they are now calling a low center of gravity build.

Picked up a new JLU Sahara and want to transfer my 35’s from my jk. So, I plan on picking up rubi springs & shocks to avoid a lift and still have the ability to lightly wheel. Just discovered I need spline lugs and trying to avoid going down the rabbit hole again before the bride gets wind of it.

I put rubicon fender flares on my sahara to cover the larger tires and haven't had any rubbing but mine hasn't been offroad yet. Tires are 315/70/17 but pretty close to 35's
