Your feeling is very accurate, as I'm a huge picture whore. And yeah, I've done a few things since that 315's and no lift pic.

I see you have a Rubicon, so it'll be just fine and will be very capable with 35's. Try to stick with a C-rated tire if possible. The metric equivalent 315/70-17 offers a lot of great options. D's and E's will ride stiffer.

When fully stuffing the rear tires, you might get some light rubbing on the backside of the rear wheelwells. A heat gun and a wet rag can easily remold that hump in the plastic liner, to get it further from the tire.

As far as wear and tear, I wouldn't be concerned. A set of 35's or 315's won't even blip the radar. Get a quality set and have them mounted at a shop that has a Road Force Balancer. That size tire and larger require a more accurate machine than what's typically found in general shops.
This is solid advice! You might apreciate this, years ago I bought a 93 YJ with E rated 265 75 16's. I'm pretty sure I could have run them with the valve stems removed. On one trip I dropped them to around 15-18 psi, I forgot I'd aired down and drove it like that for alomost a month. C rated 32's rode a whole lot better!

My JLUR is my 1st personal Jeep, but I've ridden in several older generation models over the years. I also drove a few of them, mainly playing the designated driver after a night on the town. Not a lot of driving experience, but enough to recall how much lighter the older generations felt compared to the JL's. Must be at least a 1000-1500lb difference.

I went from a C-rated 38x13.5 to a D-rated 40x13.5, thinking that the added air cushion of the larger sidewall would offset the load rating. Maybe it did to a certain extent, but I still immediately felt the increased stiffness as soon as I pulled out of the tire shop. I can only imagine how much more an increase in load rating would feel on a smaller tire. E's are generally meant for full sized pickups with much higher load and tow ratings than a Jeep.

Yup the old YJ was right at 1,500 LBS less than the JLUR. I run E's on my 3/4 ton Diesel, it's over 7K plus whatever I'm towing. My truck would ride like mush with C's.

Big yes. Years ago, I bought a used 2500 series pickup that the previous owner put regular passenger tires on. It was clean and priced right, but a proper set of tires were the first thing I treated it to. Even unloaded, I could feel the sidewalls flexing and it could hardly hold a straight line on the highway.

Believe it or not you can actually cram 37's into a Rubicon with stock suspension (but my wheels have +0 offset, which may have helped). Drove it like this for a few weeks and had zero issues, no rub. Granted, I didn't wheel it very hard during that time.
