Update: My lift kit arrives from Quadratec on Friday. I'm getting the 35's installed on the Jeep Saturday, and I'll probably look to make an appointment to get the lift installed Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll try and get the speedo flashed Saturday after the tires go on. I found another dealer that said they'd do it in about a minute for $120 bucks. That's not cheap, but it is less than the $400 programmer my dealer wants to sell me that doesn't even exist for the JL yet.
Cool, I would love to see pics of your Jeep with 35’s before you do your lift. Remind me, what tires and wheels are you doing?

I’ll be able to measure that for you tomorrow.

Do you guys feel the flash is needed with the 35’s?
Also can you measure height ground to the rocker panel

Nice, my dealer was able to buy a lift off another dealer in the area. Getting tires and lift on Monday! Let me know how the speedo flash goes if it works out well for you and I'll look into the same thing

I'll take some shots of it for you. I'm going with BFG KO2's, with a C load rating. It works so well with the 33" KO2's (C rated), that I wanted to stay as close to what it feels like now, as I can. I'm mounting them on the stock wheels.

Sweet! This is telling me smaller 315 70 17s may not rub at all or with just a minimal 1" puck would definitely not rub.

The 315 70 17 version? Those are closer to 34s aren't they? That is what I'm going with and don't want to put on a lift if I don't have to.

Well I’m holding out for the diesel so they should have the programmers out by then. Is it worth spending the money and getting one and doing it your self or better to just have dealer do it?
All I need is the speedo correction, so for me, the dealer will be fine. Another thing to remember is that the speedo correction will ensure the auto tranny keeps its shift points where they should be. I don't have to worry about that with the manual, obviously.

The 315's are 34.4 diameter, while the 35 x 12.5's are 34.5. The difference is negligible. The width on the 315's is 12.7, vs 12.5, so that's a little surprising. Those numbers are according to BF Goodrich.

Ah, my 315 duratracs were under 34" I think.

That's normal. None of them measure their full diameter with weight on them.

Are you going to be able to use your stock wheels without spacers with the 315 ‘s

Well, if you don't flash it, you'll just have to calculate that you're going 6% faster than what the speedo reads (Rubicon). Might be a pain, but the upside is that the odo will read 6% fewer miles...
