Go do some flex testing!2.5" lift on factory wheels. No spacers and no rub!
I have a skyjacker 2.5” lift on my sport and I am running a Rubicon wheel with 285/75/17 ridge grapplers. I have enough space to run a 35x12.5/17 ridge grappler without spacers with this lift on Rubicon wheels. I wasn’t sure either so I went with the tallest narrowest tire just to be sure. I will go bigger once this set wears out. Another thing to remember is even for the tire I have on it now I had to install a relocation bracket for the spare to eliminate interference with the tire and rear bumper.I am probably going to be purchasing the 2.5 RC kit for now.
We are trying to figure out what the factory offset is for the JL Sport and if with the 2.5 kit we can run our factory wheels with the 35/12.5/17 KO2s we already have. Would we need spacers/different wheels?
Anyone have pictures of this already done?
What offset would I need to run those tires?

By my math mine is:How do yall feel about the tailgate holding up to the 35s weight?
My tires are about the same, I have the skyjacker relocation bracket and tail gate saver and I wouldn’t be concerned until you get to a 37” tireHow do yall feel about the tailgate holding up to the 35s weight?
This is going to be a problem in my opinion... The JL passenger rear corner is not reinforced the same as the JK was. If you put a JK and JL side by side, open the rear gate and lean on it, the JL body flexes all over the place where the JK does not. You must run the Mopar reinforcement or the risk is very high for damage over time. I believe you will see most aftermarket JL bumpers will include swing mounts for this very reason.By my math mine is:
BFG KO2: 65lbs
Rubicon wheel: 21lbs
RC relocation bracket: 11lbs
So just around or just under 100lbs. Just my opinion but I feel very confident about this holding up fine. Northridge agreed and said they've seen worse on JK's and have them hold.
Looks good! I wonder if they would fit with no lift. You’d obviously have no room for flexing but would it clear turning wise?It worked!!!!! JLU Sport S Rough Country 2.5 lift and 35s (315/70/17 KO2s) with NO SPACERS and STOCK WHEELS!!!! no rubbing at all! I haven't had a chance to test flex but no rubbing with normal driving. I'm so excited! I will take better pictures soon I was too excited to focus. Also the rough country tire relocation bracket used.
