35” spare tire on stock carrier with steel bumper??

If the tire "RESTS" on the bumper--THATS GOOD--

As long as you have some type of :"BUMPER STOPS" also, you want the LEAST VIBRATION on the spare !!!!!

My 35.6" HANKOOK at 30psi has about 1/16" clearance, so I have a--"LOAD RELIEF SHIM: to take some of the load off the STOCK SPARE CARRIER----

The spare "SLIDES" up the shim and is "SOLID" in place-

I have 35's and mine clears by a country mile and i have steel bumpers and stock wheel carrier.

What steel bumper do you have? Stock or aftermarket?

Why can’t the steel bumper clear a 35” tire, yet the plastic bumper can?
Has anyone successfully installed a 35” tire on the stock carrier with steel bumper?

I am having this same issue. 2020 JL sport just upgraded to Rubi front and Rear Bumpers. My 33s that fit with plastic sport bumper now won't even fit.

Did you ever figure out what the issue was?

Further confused as I have a 22 392 Wrangler XR coming next week with 35s from the factory and the same bumpers....

Mine fits but is close, the plastic bumper cleared it way better. However, the Baja Boss ATs in 35s actually measured 34”

Rubicon tire carrier IS different and formed to facilitate larger tires than Sport, Sport S...etc....
