I think all of my flats have been "on road". I currently have a screw (some piece of metal) in one of my tires, but it holds air. My spare has three tire plugs in it from on road damage (what appears to be a very large lead truck wheel weight).

So, to run a spare or no...I'd definitely run a spare and carry a tire repair kit.

I have a bone-stock 2021 Rubicon Unlimited with 33” KO2’s. Nearing new tire time with 36k on them. Been happy, going same tire again.

However, I like the looks of 35” tires. Any issues going to them that I should be aware of? I have the 2.0T/8-speed and love the performance. And 4.10’s since it is a Rubicon.

Also, I am considering just buying four 35” and selling the 33” spare that has never been on the ground. Would then upgrade it to same 35” KO2.
With my luck, I’ll have a flat before I get a matching spare, lol! We do only very mild off roading, often just forest service roads.
All comments and suggestions appreciated!

I have the 35" K02. Had them on my Tundra too.I would go with Nitto Trail Grappler or Mickey Thompson Baja's. I'll buy one of those too when im getting new tires.
friend Has 4:10 gears and 37" and claims it's fine. I have 4:56 gears and 35" feel perfect to me

I always carry a tire kit and compressor. The deal on tires means I will have to get the spare as a separate deal, aggravating, but whatever.

As an aside, consider a five tire rotation with the 35s

I intend to replace the spare, but will possibly have to order it separately, long story short, tire deal is running right now, and they “can’t” give me the same deal on five or some such…
If it’s the dealer special, Make sure they can get them. I know the market’s better, but I’ve had issues in the past with them getting the actual tires.

Very cool. Awesome photo progression, thanks for posting those, very helpful.
Also, I noticed somewhere between the 35's and the 37's, you put on an American flag decal on the sides, where did you get those? I may need to add that to mine.

Not running stock wheels so the offset is different but its a pretty common wheel with Jeep owners. I have never fully stuffed or flexed the Jeep but I know there would be contact if I did it. Not sure I would personally run a 5th wheel on a 33" - minimum I would mount a 35 to a stock wheel in the event of a flat. Anyway this is a photo of my Jeep from last year with 17" wheels and LT315/70R-17 LR-C BFG T/A KO2 tires on them.

Small edit - this is a 2021 Rubicon which is what caught my eye with your post =) MPG dropped 2-3 on average changing from the stock 33's to 35's. Handling is slightly different but nothing dramatic. My wife has my stock wheels on her Sahara which feel more like street tires in comparison to the 35's.

Thanks. I think I got those on Etsy but one of the best resources for decals is Pixel Decals.

These pictures make me want 37's with a ST2 lift! I thought I could settle with my lil ol 33's. But I keep coming back to these pics and wanting what I see here. Very nice Wrangler. Well done.

Thanks! If you ever want to see it in person before making the jump just let me know. I'm in Irvine.
