So, after 3 years of my sport bearing a steel bumper and winch on 33’s, the suspension has settled to this point. As before, even at full stuff, there is no rubbing, though the wheel gap between the tire and fender look ridiculous IMO. Just a light lift on the brush bar (not even 50 lbs of force) will raise the front end about an inch. But it always settles back to this position. I’m not too worried about it, since it is getting lifted/ 35’s/ and new fenders soon, but be aware that if you’re running a heavy front bumper, you’ll eventually have a wheel gap like this on 33’s.

Wow been a while since I posted here. Took me 3 years to do this mod LOL. But I got her new shoes. Fuel Trophy wrapped in Nitto Ridge Grapplers 33’s, 285x70x17. Took me hours and hours of research and contemplation, but I think I picked the best wheel and tire set for her. I love the look. Still on stock suspension for now.

Looks good. Whats the offset on those wheels?

Thank you! They are 17x8.5 with a -6 offset I believe. I debated so long whether or not to put a 2 to 2.5” lift kit (then there’s the spacers only, with shocks only, or shock and springs kit - debate.... my brain was hurting. LOL). I decided ultimately to keep it stock suspension for now, get used to driving it, and do a lift kit after that. I’m happy with the stock suspension for now, but just wanted the more aggressive look.

Put some 285 rubicon takeoffs on the sport tonight, looks great. Fits well and no rubbing, just need to put the Rubi springs and shocks on later this week. I'll have spent less than 1K for the tires and suspension. :)
I was thinking of putting Rubi take offs with 33' BFG KO2's on my 2door Sport S. Only reason I'm not going to 35's is because I'm worried about the wheel rubbing. You didnt have any issues at all with putting 33's on your Sport?

Nope, none at all, if you went wheeling and had large articulation I'd guess it was possible. Put rubicon springs and shocks and took it to Moab. No rubbing there though we didn't do anything real difficult as my wife had never been offroad. She drove and I spotted.

There won’t be an issue. The first thing I did when I put 33” KO2’s on my Sport was flex it to the stops and check gap. It’s tight, but there’s about a 1” gap at the closest point under full flex/ full steering lock in all directions. The closest point to rub was the bumper splash guard things that come on the sport. With those off there’s at least 2” of clearance all around.

A word of advice.... load range E’s ride rough. I have E’s on my JL, and C’s on my JT. Both KO2’s. The JT rides significantly smoother. Less jarring and hoppy over sharp bumps.

Looks great. Got a front or rear straight on shot to see the poke? Thinking of going +25 myself on a Sahara with the same size tires you have there.

here are some views. Sorry for poor lighting, its winter and it gets dark fast
basically, any minor poke you see is from the sidewall bulge. the tread is full inside the fender.

I'm actually thinking about the -1 offset for a little less poke. Anyone have a similar setup? I've gone through a lot the wheel/tire threads and haven't seen anything.
