Heck I wish I'd bought a rubicon at this point, but oh well. Now I know for next time.

I'm kind of nervous about spacers, but really am not about to shell out $1600 for new rims right now.

I purchased a Smittybilt tire relocator and have a Superchips flashcal. I honestly think it drives better than with the 285 tires. It feels more planted on the road. I'm sure it would struggle offroad with these larger tires.

No rubbing, nor on the spare.

Really nice Jeep. I'm seriously thinking I'd like to add the Sahara running boards to my Rubicon, mostly for splash and rock guards. I'm not a rock crawler but plan plenty of beach and wood trail running. Wish the 315s came with a OWL option. How do you like them for getting in an out of the jeep? I do recall they always rub on your lower leg getting out.

@Krondor knows...I wish I had bought a rubi initially, but after owning a sport for 6 months, it was more cost effective to build my sport. Was going to lose significant money spent on unique mods when I tried to trade for a rubi. it's ssentially going to be a RK lifted rubi on 35s with better than Alpine soundsystem...except I wont have the automatic sway bar disconnect or rubi badge.:like:

Any reason not to get the 35-12.50 17 BFG all-terrain KO2 versus the 315 bfg KO2 that’s on back order.

I believe the 35 is a true 35 versus the 315 is like 34 1/4”

There are differences on the BFG KO2:
- 35 you can only get in E load. The 315 you can get in C or E. C is better for daily driver. E is better for off road due to thicker sidewalls. E will weigh more (almost 2 pounds a tire).
- 35 will cost more even if you get both in E.
- 35 you can get in raised white lettering. 315 you can not.
- The differences between 35 and 315 in height are negligible. 35 is a 34.5 diameter and the 315 is 34.4.
- Technically both are out of spec to mount on the stock rubicon rims (315 is 1/2 inch, 35 is 1 inch). Discount Tire wouldn't mount a 315 or a 35 where I live. Your mileage may vary.

As much as I admire BFG--I can't condone the KO2 tread design for jeeps--

It grabs a definite size small gravel and throws --causing damage to the doors/rear fenders and-

I've got RAISED WHITE LETERS on my LT315/75Rx16 tires-

Just depends on the MFG !

Although I like the AEV Savegre black look myself, I am old enough to appreciate the classic rims/OWL look. Bravo sir!

I agree. My stock 33's seem to pick and throw everything, mostly at my rear flares and are pockmarked as a result. But thus far the 315's arent doing it. Guessing the spacing on the lugs are wider and pick up less?? Regardless I will be getting rocker guards that will stop any pebble thrown action.

This might be a stupid question, but i'm new to the Rubicon world. I DON'T want a lift, I just want to run 35's on my stock rims. I never plan on off roading (I know, I'm one of those guys.. ) Also, I want my tires to stick out past the fenders a bit, can i achieve this with spaces? Again, I want the stock rims.
