Wanting to know the proper tire pressure for my JLU with 305/65r18’s. They’re currently sitting at around 50psi and seem very bouncy! Max cold says 65psi. Things I’ve read on other vehicles like F150s and Tundras say around 40psi. Would this holdtrue for my JLU? Any help is appreciated.

I have 305/65/17 and run them at around 34 psi warm. I tried 30 psi warm and seemed the steering wandered a little due to too much flex. 34 warm seems better but not to stiff and the wandering is gone.

I good guide is that the PSI should not go up more than about 10% or you are too low. You will likely feel too much flex/wandering before you get so low your tires heat up too much.

Ok. They came from the factory at 65psi before I took some air out. The ride was still bouncy as heck. I have them down to 38psi. We will see how that works for a bit.

65 PSI is for when carrying max rated weight for that tire and a jeep is not even close to that. You might want to be about half that or you will wear the tires out in the center.

Good to know. I’ll drop them down to 35psi.
