They lie. They will claim "us designed" or "assembled in the US from foreign sourced suppliers" and other such vague words. But all the stuff comes from China. This is their gimmick and not shocked they lied to you.

IT IS THE SAME PART!! It seems they come from the same Chinese factory.

Teraflex is owned by 4 Wheel Parts, who is owned by TransAmerican, who is owned by Polaris, who is owned by Textron.
Not dog in this fight here, but Textron does not own Polaris. They do own Arctic Cat though.
Polaris is its own, and they do own many others.

If you want a premium shock and the 6 pak isn’t something you’d like check out custom valved shocks from accutune or something ADS or fox 2.5 race ready. The 3.3 do not pair well with the MC coils.

Brett
What are your thoughts on the MC 3.5 lift with King shocks?

The shocks are manufacturered at their facility in Utah.

MEPCO is now Teraflex which is the owner’s father’s original company since the 50’s.

You may be thinking of Rubicon Express.

All I know is the Teraflex Alpine IR front trackbar for JL I ordered said "Made in China" underneath the boots on the IR joints. Promptly returned and ordered MC. No issues.

RK fanboy here. Virtually all experiences with MC I've read on this forum have been overwhelmingly positive, and if I wasn't going RK, I would likely be going MC.

I will say, that in my experience- any shop that talks trash about a product they sell, and tries to steer you toward something else, probably shouldn't trusted.

No. As pointed out Teraflex is AMERICAN owned, but all the product is CHINA made.

The shocks as well. All they do is unload the containers of parts from China and put in nice boxes and ship them out.

Kings are an excellent shock but at that price point, if you want off the shelf, the fox 2.5 race ready pair well. On the kings, I’d consider having them valved for your jeep and spring rates.

FWIW, I’m running 2.5s with RK springs( multi rate spring) and they are great. The quality of the shock is the first thing that jumps out at you, that and the massive 7/8 “ shock shafts. The only thing I would suggest is to get them from @AccuTunedJL and have them valve them to your Jeep. Off the shelf they’re set up for heavier Jeep as far as I can tell. At least mine were. I plan on having them revalved when they’re do for rebuild. Mine aren’t bad but i can’t run them on highway higher than 3 clicks and run them at zero off road. If I put a couple hundred pounds in it ( aka water softener salt, 5 - 40 pound bags) and me and the wife it drives like a car, smooth as butter. Just some .02.

I've sent Accutuned and ADS emails but no replies.

Spendy shocks to start with, I'm sure their tuned offerings will head north quickly.

If you buy your shocks from AccuTune they will tune them for free. Well worth it.

I bought mine used from a guy on here who got them from AccuTune, and had the tuning updated and works great for my specifics.

As @Roky points out they are pretty stiff from the factory so getting them setup for your weight and usage is a good option as then the DSC can be used to fine tune.

They have a manufacturing facility in Utah for their shocks.

I don’t know what the obsession you have with Teraflex. I’ll call it TDS Teraflex Derangement Syndrome.

Here’s a video of their US facility manufacturing their shocks.
