Hello everyone, I’m finally to a point where my 392 build is beginning to take shape, so I thought I would share my ultimate plans and progress thus far...

Being an avid outdoorsman with an affinity for camping, hunting, and fishing; I set out to build a 392 with the ability to carry me through a vast assortment of terrain alongside my brother and his JT. Currie 70 Platinum Edition Front and Rear Axle Set, 70 inch, 8 Lug, Jeep JL Rubicon 392

Those look amazing.
35-Spline Pinion Shafts Front and Rear

How does that compare with DSTRAC Ultra 70 Axle Set JL 40/40-Spline, High Pinion and Dynatrac Elite™ ProRock XD60®/80 Axle-Set for Jeep JL

ARB Air lockers?

Padre Island National Seashore outside of Corpus Christi, TX. 60 miles long and it is the longest stretch of undeveloped beach in the country (maybe world). Great for camping (anywhere you want on the beach) and surf fishing. When I go I drive far enough down that there usually isn't anyone else within a couple miles of me.

Head to the north of the Seashore and there are many more miles of beach to be driven through Port Aransas, and other towns.
Air down to 7 PSI and no one will beat you drag racing at Padre Island National Seashore

Why are you trussing the axles when you're getting new axles? Why not get the 70's installed before doing all that work? Looks like an amazing build.

DS Trac has a proven track record of terrible customer service, so I’m not going down that road.

The Dynatrac 60/80 combo is a true contender but by the time you add RCV’s you’re at the same cost as the Curries. I have a long history with Currie as I had a their 44/60 in my TJ back when I was in college and F9’s currently in my ‘68 Chevelle & ‘32 Ford.

Yes air locker.

Such a coincidence that you mention SPI as I have a beach house down there and spend lots of time in the dunes down there! I’m typically down there once a month. The only thing that I didn’t list is the cam, I’m nearly certain that I am going to do the MMX cam. 60 rwhp and a drastic improves in the throttle response and power between 2200-5200 rpm is a big deal!

I wanted the suspension done first so all of the kinks could be ironed out of it over the next couple months of driving it. That choice is causing me to do some things twice (i.e. trusses, steering, etc.) but it was an expense I was willing to make for that piece of mind.

Thanks Brandon! I'm a long time BD fan going back to circa '08-'09 when Chris Chapman helped me through some lighting issues with my KTM ATV prior to a dune trip. Over the years I've reluctantly tried other brands and/or been witness to other brands failing. I had a bad ATV crash Fathers Day '08 and one of the only things that survived was the Baja Designs light!

Hey Bronson90, Great to hear out light survived the crash. Hopefully, you fully recovered from that accident and are doing well now. Thanks for the response.
Best,

I'd love some 0-60 times at Padre Island National Seashore when you're aired down. I'm guessing for 0-60 you could lock front and rear. Anything faster only the rear.

The next time we’re going down is at Thanksgiving but are flying. I have a Dragy that I’ll make sure to take with me next time I drive my Jeep down. I’m dropping it off on the 10th at Rebel Off Road Texas!
