With your experience, can a JLU and a JKU (both with 35's and winch) make it with out any major issues? My son is returning from the Army and I want to take a "camping trip" next spring.

Absolutely, you’ll likely drag in a few places. May put the rock sliders to the test a bit. There are 1 or 2 places you may even have to winch or stack rocks. A little more work than a rig with bigger tires, but 100% doable.
