My husband just bought a brand spanking new 2019 Wrangler three days ago. Today he tried to leave his plant to head to a meeting and it wouldn't go... He said basically it was shifting hard, wouldn't go above 15 mph, and the CEL was on. Because he was heading into a meeting, and has spotty cell reception where he works, I called the dealer. I had to call 6 times. I got disconnected, then would be transferred to random ringing, then was told that our salesman was in a sales meeting, go voicemail for the service center. If I wasn't so frustrated, it would have been comical.

Finally got the direct line for someone in service and he was mostly helpful. He directed me to roadside assistance for a tow (which was another instance of getting lost in an automated system multiple times). Yet to find out what the issue is or if they'll even provide a loaner vehicle.

Anyone have similar issues with your Wrangler?
Similar issues with service? I kind of feel like they should have been doing everything they could to make this right, but instead they just kept giving me ideas of what I should do.

I have heard of the CEL coming on for the 2.0L engine, but I am not familiar with the 15mph issue. Do you have the 4 cylinder, turbo 2.0L engine?

It's a V6.

15 MPH issue is limp mode. Usually related to a transmission issue, but could be triggered by other powertrain issues as well. If you're in limp mode and a stop/restart doesn't fix it, you need to stop driving as you could be doing damage to the transmission. Times like this is when it's good to have a code reader with you so you can pull the code and see what the issue is. Knowing what the issue is may allow you to drive it a short distance in limp mode so that you can get it to a safe area. If you're clueless on most of this stuff - you need to just stop driving it and get it towed.

Update: Had it towed back to the dealer (apparently wouldn't go in reverse either). Just heard from the service department that the valve body needs to be replaced, but that is on back order for 2 weeks. If that doesn't work, the transmission may need to be replaced. Not the best experience with a new car, but there are worse things in the world. At least they are trying to make it right.

That sucks. And people made fun of us First year 2018 owners. Seems problems just occur in every year.

Any update on the repair? They told me I needed a valve body replacement on my '08 Challenger and it turned out to be a loose pin connector in the ABS system...
