Hey everyone,

I would like to install a 3 inch body lift on my JL.
All parts I have found so far are great but only for Jeeps with automatic transmissions.
The reason why they won't fit a manual is because of the length of the shift rod.
I can't find any parts to close the gab between the shifter knob and the transmission.

Has anybody tackled this topic yet?

Looked at the link for you rig.
Looks great!
Really like the manual gearbox (I am biased :D).

Help me to understand why go with a body lift instead of something like a Rock Krawler 3.5" lift kit (maybe even a long arm kit).?

I would love a long arm kit but I am currently in the process of buying a house and at the age of 26, $400 versus $2,500 on top of getting 35s is a big deal for me.

I could wait with the jeep but who wants to wait haha.

A body lift would be convenient cause then I wouldn't have to change any of the suspension components.

just a money thing really..

do you have one installed?
What did you go with?
No, I'm not a fan of body lifts myself, but when I upgraded my clutch, there was plenty of shift cable slack to allow for such a lift.

Really just aesthetic opposition. The frame is exposed and looks like a dragging belly. It's more money but I would suggest modified or aftermarket fenders to create the same tire clearance

Why not a suspension spacer lift? Rough Country gets good reviews on theirs.

I have a 1.75 inch performance spacer lift already with 32s and love the articulation space. I would love to keep that same space when i put 35s on. That would be a great combo.

why not just do a 2.5"spacer lift for now (cheaper than a full suspension lift) and easier than the 3" BL I honestly didn't even know there was a 3" BL out. also getting the stock body bolts out has proven problematic for lots of people. I have a 1" BL on my CJ and honestly that would be as far as I would go on a BL. BUt that is personal pref. Hell you could look around for a rubicon suspension take off and combine that with the current spacer you have and that would be a good start.

Did you ever do it ? I am looking to do a 1.25 body lift on my JLU and it's also a manual. I was wondering how it all turned out ?

That is a beauty man! Guess there is only one way to find out if the body lift will work on a manual and that's to do it. I have a mopar 2" lift and am looking to run 37s I saw a vid on a guy running a 2 Inch lift and a 1.25 body lift and he got 40s under it. Figured that be the move for running 37s as well with a 2"
