What do you think about an 3,6 l V6 Turbo?
The power according to the G Class 500 could be 380 PS and 410 ft lb.
This would be a fine performance alternative to the heavy and slower reving turbo diesel engine.
In terms of power this would also be fine.
Do you think FCA will built an V6 Turbo?
Maybe this would be an 3,2 l V6 Turbo beacause of lower compression.

FCA won't do it, but it'd be SWEET.

FCA already has a 2.9l Twin Turbo V6 in the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Giulia Quadrifoglio. It makes 505 horsepower and 443 lb.-ft. of torque. Will they ever use it in a Wrangler? No. Although the turbo 4 in the JL will be loosely based on the Alfa turbo 4.

Yes this would be great, even with reduced power.

This is a detuned engine derived from a Ferrari V8. It would be very expensive. The Stelvio Q4 starts at $80,000 and up past $90k with options. FCA is only going to give us engines to keep the Wrangler slow. Liability and safety.

I wish Jeep would take a pricing structure like Ford does with the F150. You get a 3.3l V6 standard, $1000 gets the Ecoboost 2.7 turbo, $2000 gets the 5.0l Coyote V8 and $3000 gets the Ecoboost 3.5l Turbo.

Maybe because of a significant lower output, say minus 130,PS and the scaling effect of some 100.000 engines the price will become competitive.
I think a 6 Zyl is much more sovereign then an basic 4 Zyl regardless of output.
In terms of joy this 6 Zyl Turbo would be a pleasure to drive and deepens the emotions to the new Jeep Wrangler.

There are many aftermarket Super and Turbo chargers available for the 3.6L V6 in the JK today... same engine in the JL, so I am sure there will be many available shortly.

Is anyone interested in a high power Wrangler?
Standard from FCA would be fine because of lower cost and warranty.

I don't believe the Pentastar was designed to handle forced induction.

Heck yes! But I still believe the 440 lbs of torque from the 3.0 diesel will be exactly the high power I'm looking for.

You guys have to realize that FCA is already pushing the limits of what this drive train will handle with aftermarket tires. All these people asking for a 5.7 or a 350hp plus engine, don’t realize the driveshafts in JKs have failed easily in the last. Axle tubes will bend, housings and ring gears will fail. Unless you’re willing to shell out 65k + for a Dana 60 equipped wrangler with a higher powered motor then it will never happen from the factory.

I’m thinking that they already might have issues with the diesel in this application due to the high torque. I can see twisted driveshafts and ring gear failures in the future.
