I so badly wanted to bet you your Mojito (the color I so badly want to order) that you were wrong. I was going to show a screen shot of the Jeep build website where you can get the 3.45 or 3.73 on the Sahara. There is no 3.73 available from the factory for the 2.0 or 3.6. I wish there was it would be perfect for 33s.
You’re going to re-gear twice? Seems like a waste unless you have those 33’s on there for years and you’re talking really, really long term. Why not just go straight to 35’s and 4.56?4.10 the only way to go with 33’s. I have the 6speed sport with 3.45’s I will be jumping to 4.10’s with for my 33” mud terrains. And will change to 4.56 when I get 35’s
I have 4.56 with 33s on an old truck with a 4 speed auto. First gear is 2.47:1. I barely ever need 4Lo, I bet 4.10 with 8 speed or 6 speed would be enough for 35s unless you’re crawling a lot. You’re going to re-gear twice? I test drove a 2023 sahara ecodiesel yesterday and it was much quicker in acceleration than my 2021ecodiesel. The sticker indicates it's 3.45 but I thought all diesels are 3.73. For some reason it is so much quicker than mine. I wonder if they have updated/improved this last generation ecodiesel?I so badly wanted to bet you your Mojito (the color I so badly want to order) that you were wrong. Well... you can.... if you order the diesel...Headbarcode is correct and as usual I am wrong.
I've got 4.10s with 35, I've found that just putting it in manual mode and leaving it in 7th gives the best driving experience when things get moderately hilly. I cruise 72ish on the highway and this gives me about 2500 rpm.I've been driving on 35's for 3 years with the stock 3.45 ratio and its been fine. Doesn't go into 8th gear very often anymore on the highway but it hasnt bothered me enough to make a regear job priority over other mods.
I suspect my experience would be different if I had the 6spd manual. The 2 extra gears on the auto make a huge difference with the bigger tires.
