As much as we would all like tesla to make other dealers better, I just can't see it happening until any owner can call tesla from any state for any vin and get even so much as a lug nut cover ordered.
I'm next to a dealer, wouldn't be opposed to having one for in town cause there is lots of electrical charging around here but the inability to purchase even the smallest part is ridiculous. Much less that if tesla finds any non tesla person did pretty much anything to the car that vin get blacklisted and you can no longer do anything for it.
Imagine Jeep saying oh you need part x. What's your vin? Ah that vin has been blacklisted. We no longer provide service or parts for that vehicle. All over something as simple as replacing a ripped seat cover without going to the dealer.
Plus if you think Jeep major part times are bad, lookup tesla's the get into an accident. Some sit in the shop for over a year waiting on the factory to send a single body panel or piece of glass.
