Snorkel can’t help introduce more air for the diesel?

Uses Diesel Exhaust Fluid instead of a Particulate Filter I believe. As far as I know they don't come together.
Incorrect. The last FCA 3.0 had both, the new one will, and almost every modern diesel is forced to use both. You cannot meet particulate emissions standards without the DPF and you cannot meet NOx emissions standards without urea DEF fluid. Most also use an EGR to stay under these limits...arguably the most detrimental piece of the system as it pertains to long-term engine health. The DPF will also run regen cycles to increase lifespan, as most do, but it’ll be a consumable part as they all are. When it fails, delete unless still under warranty.

ugh, they get more complicated as time goes on I guess.

Diesel Jeep, with fuel 15% higher than gas in a tiny little 4500# vehicle?
Why?
Today's fuel prices at the Costco in Melrose Park, IL:
Regular $2.93/gal
Premium $3.44/gal
DIESEL $2.85/gal

Myth. Busted.

That's the way it should be. Diesel costs way less to refine but they've been gouging the guys with big trucks for years.

Oh come on, Karl.
Not a myth, and I’m not busted.
Things change. Diesel has been ~15% higher than gas for several years now.
I’m glad to see that diesel fuel is getting more reasonably priced now.

My understanding is the root cause of that price discrepancy has been refinery capacity. They need more capacity but are unwilling to spend the big $$ that would require so diesel see-saws between "not enough" and "too much".

I miss my little '82 Rabbit diesel (5 speed stick!). Reliable as a rock, cheap and fun to drive (row those gears!), easy to park in the City and surprising amount of capacity when you fold the back seats down. I owned it for quite a while and it only failed to start ONCE - it was 20 below zero (and on the lakefront) and hardly anybody else's car started that day either (at least in my parking lot). The *diesel* bus I took ran just fine, though. :)

Not a myth in my neck of the woods, either. Diesel is usually 20% more here: $2.85 for regular, $3.45 for diesel right now.

Depends on the state (some tax diesel higher than others), time of year (winter home heating oil demand increases road diesel cost), and currently the supply side problems with the ethanol market for gas in the Midwest.

Is this only for the NA market? Here in Europe we only have a 2.2 Diesel but it doesn’t compare to the 2.0 petrol will is definitely a lot more responsive.

Check your state taxes I know mine taxes diesel much higher than gasoline and that causes it to cost more but I'm also in the wonderful state of Connecticut where we try to keep up with or replace California as the worst state to do anything

I spent 26 years in that political dumpster fire, three of which were driving VW diesels. Most fill-ups were in MA, NJ, and NH before I escaped permanently. I hear y’all are getting a pile of tolls to up the price of travel for everyone regardless of fuel preference.
