My Diesel Sahara has averaged 26 MPG for the first 2 tanks in 50/50 city/hywy driving.
And, it's probably going to be one of my favorite Jeeps.

I added 35’s at about the 200 mile mark so I never really got an actual baseline for my MPGs. My last tank was 21.8 mpgs with 80% highway. Even with 35’s that seems low especially all the highway driving. I only got 337 miles on my full tank too. Not even close to 500 miles

What’s your highway speed? I’m getting 24mpg on 35s right now with continued temps below freezing and 50/50 city/hwy.

Hmm yea seems a bit low unless you managed to fight a strong headwind for most of that. I use opti-lube XPD in the fuel which adds some cetane, but that might account for 0.2-0.5mpg tops.

a lot of this tank was a lot of it was going down hill too. Then a trip to corona all highway. I filled up with chevron both times not sure it makes a difference. How many miles on. Tank are you getting?

I haven’t run out a full tank but the math suggests I’d be about 400 miles.

So I finally was able to take the Jeep long distance today after taking delivery on the 24th of March. I’ve been doing local driving only since but today I took a 140 mile trip to north Jersey. I reset my fuel economy meter before leaving.

Here are my results:

65 to 67mph average mph throughout the entire trip on the Turnpike and Garden State Parkway with strong front end winds.

37s Nitto Ridge Grapplers with 20 inch Fuel Blitz

2 inch Mopar Lift Kit.

Verdict: 22 mpg ....Not Bad!

I wonder how much the 37s impacted this. 2-3 mpg?

I would say that’s a good guess. It can’t be that much but I think without the wind resistance this summer I can probably hit 24 or 25 mpg. Still that’s pretty good.

There are a couple other folks on here running 37s who would kill for those mpgs lol...I suspect their lead feet yield much of the discrepancy.

I now have 1200 problem free miles on my stock diesel Rubi.

My first tank driving the 350 miles from the selling dealer in Atlanta to FL @ various speeds up to 80mph hand calculated 22.6 mpg.

The second tank mostly all locally averaged 25.6mpg.

I recently did a 100 mile trip to AL and back to FL with speeds never exceeding 45mph and got 31.2mpg.

This is my 3rd JL and is the best driving and best engine in a JLU compared to the 3.6 in a Sahara and the 2.0 in my last Rubi.

Super satisfied...finally!
