It was posted in the start of production thread the calculation is at 55mph. Does this make sense if 55mph=29mph then 70mph=24mpg?
My Pentastar certainly gets worse mileage at 70 mph than at 55 mph - wind resistance.

Yea and drag increases at the square of velocity, not on a linear scale. Speed when driving a brick will have a much bigger affect on mpg than typical modifications.

Break points without factoring residual value is a moot point. :)

I broke even the first time I put the skinny pedal of my 3.0 on the floor . Oh and diesel is now $0.05/gallon cheaper than 87 octane here so at a planned 20-25,000 miles per year, I’ll be financially breaking even rather quickly.

I was being sarcastic. It’s a Jeep. Smiles all that matters. That torque can be appreciated by lovers of Hemi and modified 350. If only I can get around that soot. Only concern I have. Get me past that. It’s ordered yesterday. :(

What soot? Like after a DPF delete?

Then you’ll never see soot. Modern diesel exhaust treatments between DPF, EGR and SCR are ridiculously clean.
Not following. Everything points to soot buildup which may end up in the engine. Why so many delete. Seems to be the only option.

Any know if FCA is offering 100k bumper to bumper including emissions? If they built a reliable as advertised solution then that shouldn’t be an issue for them. I’d consider lifetime that I’ve heard mentioned on the other engine platforms but not sure if bumped to bumper and I hate dealing with dealers until I have no choice like placing an order which I’m on the fence although scrub now and then I get on the buying side then suddenly something makes me hop back up. This is so frustrating.

BTW. I’m specifically speaking of cleaning the EGR. Not concerned with the DPF. I do enough Highway to resolve that. I think.

The EGR is post-DPF now...a new development in the design of EGR systems to mitigate the soot-clogging and engine-level issues. Maybe it works maybe it doesn’t, but it makes a helluva lot more sense than grabbing the pre-DPF exhaust to recirculate.
