First world problem indeed. Also, it was just a few years ago that 35s were huge!
I wouldn't bother to change gears unless you went bigger than 37s. I still accidentally chirp tires sometimes when accelerating into traffic. My wife commented a couple days ago that she likes surprising sports cars next to her at traffic lights with how quick our big Jeep is. If you can't tell, she's the one with the lead foot; I'm more the hyper-miler. I joke/half-joke that I can tell when she's been driving by avg mileage decrease.
We also do a lot of longer trips, which was a decider for the diesel. We keep talking about getting another second vehicle as a road-trip vehicle but I always try to find off-beaten-path ways, and the JL allows REALLY off-beaten-path detours. I've managed to add 6-8 hour onto our trips to and from my hometown in Minnesota on an already 20+ hour interstate drive in at least one direction every year.
