15 minutes oil change, 5 minutes changing the oil and 10 minutes cleaning up.. track bar, tie rod, steering stabilizer, and the bracket..oil bath..still better than the stupid Ford design.
I did replace it with the larger white SRT mo-041 filter, tight fit but able to hand tight it without using tools, awkward position tho.
Filter seems very good quality, heavy gauge metal housing, anti-drain back gasket, bypass valve, paper media held together tightly.
Huge amount of metal particles and gasket material, believe it or not, it’s actually a lot less than my 2018 3.6 and 2019 raptor 3.5’s oil filter around 2k miles. All from new engine break-in, normal, that’s the reason why I change it earlier.
not scientific, just for fun, Wrangler is a BIG LEGO for me…
I'll have to remember that for my wife's Pilot! Oil filter is right over a frame rail and it just collects oil to distribute on the floor at a later time. Lately I've been taking a gallon Ziploc bag and cinching it around the oil filter boss. It catches all the oil, it's just a pain to spin off.I would use a punch or something similar to put a small 1/4 inch hole in the bottom of the filter and use a funnel to direct that into a drain pan if needed.
