I have not found many threads about 34" (285/75r17) tire fitment on a stock JLUR and was wondering if anybody here has experience on- and off-road with such set-up.
I currently run stock suspensions and wheels/tires on a 2018 JLUR (pic below, white jeep), which i use 75% on-road / 25% off-road. Given my usage, i want to stick to all-terrain or hybrid tires, possibly C load rating. It is time to replace my 285/70r17 BFG KO2's, which i was very happy with, and was thinking of trying something new: the Nitto Ridge Grappler.
From the Nitto website, i see that the Ridge Grappler is available in both 285/70r17 and 285/75r17 sizes, both with a C load rating (snapshot below). If the 285/75r17 fits the JLUR without any interference or rubbing at full flex, i like the idea of gaining a 1" of clearance. Any thoughts on this?
Any other recommendations on pros/cons of 285/75r17 vs 285/70r17 on a JLUR stock set up? From the Nitto table, the two tires look almost identical, except for the height of course and for the weight which might worsen the gas milage a bit...but that does not worry me.
