Total noob. Thank you all for so much information.
I think I finally found the right thread.
OK I’m trying to get all this down - prior to pulling the trigger on wheels I am hoping to get it right.
I don’t want to make a $2,500 error, or damage my Jeep.
I have a JLU Sahara
Wheels are American Outlaw Buckshot 17X9 with offset of 15
Tire are Nitto 285/75 R17 C. (Corrected)
Am I good? I’m confused about offset.
What are the bumper parts I see need removed.

I think you just have a typo. 175/75R17 are 27.33 x 6.89 inch tire. 275/75R17, if that's what you meant, is a 33.24 x 10.83 inch tire. That will fit will zero issues.

Sahara JL
295/70/17 (Duratracs 33.5 X 11.6)
+18 offset American Outlaw Marshall wheels
30" RC hood light bar
Tailgate reinforcement to be done next week when I get it in.
Tires and wheels are 86 lbs so piece of mind is what I want with the reinforcement.

A special thanks to the below people for your help and insight:
  • @$uicide$hift: For helping me decide that its ok not to lift a perfectly fine Jeep.
  • @BillyHW: For a funny ass profile pic...
  • @snelldogg: For the help with tire size and keeping my sanity.
  • @Camo_honey: You are breathtaking...had to throw that out there...
  • @MacBigButt: For your help with tires also...

After going round and round, this is the same wheel tire combo I’m going with, except I going with American Outlaw Buckshots. I learned a lot from everybody. Thanks for sharing.

What size tire did you get. I see you went to ok 4 wheel drive in Warren county NJ

I'm sorry
Don’t be sorry! Just wanted to be sure you realized that if you’re trying to ask someone specific, they may not have seen the question. You might want to try tagging them with the @ symbol (or quote their post).

This thread was super helpful! I have a Sport S and am considering going with 285/75r17 KO2s on Quadratec's 17x8.5 Hardrock wheel and I think this just locked in my choices! Once I get the wheels and tires I'll see how I feel about a lift, likely just RC 2in spacer as I won't be doing any serious off roading here in Florida lol

34" should fit on the stock mount. If you have a tire with different offset than stock you may need to put large rubber bumpers on.

I also ended up putting the tailgate reinforcement kit on but I really don't think it was necessary.

hmm ok. i mean, i guess its not bad to spend the 80 bucks for the big tire kit plate but yeah im a little worried about the rubber bumpers because i cant find any that I can buy that will fit the JL.

$80? More like $600! And I don't think it is needed.

The JK extended bumpers work but for the ones I found I had to trim the insert piece to fit the smaller hole in the JL. Hockey pucks work well to from what I've seen googling "wrangler spare tire bump stop"
