I want to run 285/75/17 on my 2020 JLU Sport S. What all is involved to be able to do this? It came with 245/75/17 tires on it.

I'm a fan of suspension over spacers, so I would personally get a set of Rubi takeoffs. Preferably, a set taken off of one that came from the factory with the hardtop/steel bumper/tow package combo. Supplementing that with a quality set of adjustable front lower control arms would allow the fine tuning of caster. You could stop there and slap on the larger tires, and keep costs at a minimum.

If you wanted to take it a step further, adjustable front and rear track bars to perfectly center the axles side to side.

Higher quality arms and linkages from quality aftermarket companies are stronger than factory and resist flexing. They also have much better performing bushings. This results in a more solid and planted feel to the ride and handling. The more that gets upgraded, the more that feeling will grow.

You can run 285/70/R17 (same size that comes stock on the Rubicon) with no lift - my wife's Sport has been running that size since I upgraded my jeep to 35x12.50 tires a year ago. Your speedometer will register 2-3mph slower than actual speed at highway speeds without an adjustment, but clearance is no problem at all. You'd need a small lift for the 285/75/R17.

I had the dealer put my 285/75/ 17s from my JK on my JL when I purchased it. They fit but it will rub when at full lock. I got home after hearing the rubbing and removed the fender to bumper things by unbolting it for the bumper. Problem solved!

I eventually installed a 2.5 spacer lift but I ran it with no lift for a bit. If you remove those connector fender things, you’ll be fine!

Jeremy, which wheels are you using on the Sport and if they are aftermarket, what is the backspacing?

Lol, well....may have to get back to you on that. I’m not sure.
Haha, picked them up on offer up or Craigslist a while back for $400 5 rims and tires. 4 of the tires were worn and I eventually replaced them.

They say American Racing ATX series with Teflon coating. If I find the actual type, I’ll drop it here.

They're on stock alloy wheels - we just moved them straight over to the Sport from my Rubicon and then sold her original wheels/tires.

Nice looking Jeep, how do you like the coopers? Any rubbing with the Rubi takeoff suspension? Was there a noticeable difference in handling and overall performance with the tire and/or the suspension upgrade? I’ve been considering this tire size, my Jeep is a daily driver and I don’t want to go too big and lose the stock handling/performance.
