After seeing the pics in your post, the 1.5" Teraflex lift was exactly what I was looking for. So, I pulled the trigger on the Teraflex lift and very happy with the results. Thanks for your post.[/QUOTE]

285/70 Duratracs. No lift, no spacers, stock everything for now. Had previously removed that fender piece. Next mod will be a fender. I like the looks, still getting used to the feel of the new tires.

Post pics if you have 285/70/17s on your 2 door JL! I have 33” Wrangler Duratrac with a 1.5” teraflex performance kit and 1.5” wheel spacers. No rubbing so far, haven’t taken offroad yet.

Hi,
I'm planning to install this kit on my 2020 JL Sport S 2 Door. My question is, Is there any difference in ride quality on and off-road? and any other modifications required such as lower arm relocation bracket or shock extensions?

Thanks.

Looks great! I have some questions. Are you running a 285 spare as well? If so, are you using that size tire on the stock tire carrier? Is it holding up OK with extra weight? Also, are you running the factory shocks and bumpstops? Lastly, did the lift cause either axle to drift off center creating a need for an adjustable track bar?

285/70/17s on BFG KO2's with the old wheel as a spare as it arrived later so had to wait to get that added later! Planning to add the TF 1.5" lift in the coming month.

2" spacer lift from Rubicon Express, (with front and rear adjustable trac-bars), Quadratec Rubicon Xtreme wheels 17x9, 4.75 backspace, 285/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers (116Q these are the 48.74lb variants) and have a less deep tread depth than do the load range E –

Jeep is a 2022 with about 600 miles on it here, (bought it new on 4/4/2022) - with a Manual Transmission and the Dana 44 rear end. MPG was 22 hand calculated for the first two tanks and for the third tank I had installed a 2" spacer lift from Rubicon Express and the Wheels and Tires Fuel Economy has dropped to 18 hand calculated - mostly all highway with a lot of stop and go traffic in Dallas Texas. Installed the lift wheels and tires on 4/8/2022

I toyed with several tires and tire sizes, was considering the 255/80/17 and the 285/75/17 yet landed on the 285/70/17. A lot of factors went into the ultimate decision – yet the deciding factor was tire weight. The Ridge Grapplers I am running claim a weight of 48.74lbs from Nitto’s website – Measured on the wheels and jeep on the ground *(17x9) they measure exactly 32” tall – I did not weigh them so I can only speculate if Nitto’s number are correct.

The truth on the manual is this – I am going to HAVE to regear this Jeep – I was going to re-gear this Jeep even stock – I MUST regear this, Jeep. The stock 3.45 axle gear ratios are trash – on the stock tires 245/75/17 – this thing wouldn’t hold 70mph up a slight incline or into a moderate head wind. I need to use 4th and 5th gear to achieve 80mph, then shift into 6th and stay on it to keep the tach above 2,000 rpms, both with the 285’s and the 245’s - yet physics prevail, and I downshift to maintain speed. I won’t say that 6th is useless, but it is functionally not usable.

I’ve had a ton of Wranglers most all of them with manuals – only a 2016 Rubicon with an automatic. My 1997 TJ with the 4-cyclinder seemed to do better than my 2022 JL – Sport with a 3.6 and manual and the 3.45 gear ratio – my 97 SE TJ had 4.11’s – you had to flog it on 33’s but she would run.

For this JL I am trying to figure out if the 4.88’s of 4.56’s are the way to go – or should I go 5.13’s and have plenty of torque when needed.

Regearing with this gear ratio and manual is *(for me) a question of, not if, but rather what gears to choose to encompass all my perceived scenarios; daily commuting, overlanding (with a trailer), moderate trails without a trailer. 4.11’s or at the very least 3.73’s should be the starting gear ratio for these manual jeeps.

Beautiful wheels! Do you know the wheels width on these? 17X8 or 17x9? Spacers?
