This was my thinking. I did not want to effect my overall gear ratio and drive-ability too much by going to oversize tires. Especially since I haul a small travel trailer at times. I settled on 255/75-17. They are a touch bigger than the stock tire, running just over 32", but not so big as to need the computer set for a larger tire.
I put on a Rubicon suspension that gave me 1.25" lift in the front and 2" in the rear then bought Falken MT01 LT255/75-17 tires. I'm very satisfied by how my Jeep turned out and for what I do it's perfect.
Nice insight on the 255/75R17. Do you have any pictures of it directly from the side view?
