Has anyone ran into an issue with the front drive shaft being different yet?
I have a 24 Rubicon, 6 speed with 4.88 gears. Just installed a metalcloak 2.5” lift and forgot my 32mm socket so couldn’t install my new drive shaft. Took it to a shop to get an alignment done and asked them to throw the new front drive shaft in while they had it up. I ordered a Yukon 1310 drive shaft. Box said Sport / Sahara Dana 30, but my understand was I swap yokes and it’s fine. Shop told me the “inside spine diameter on the Yukon is way too small”. I can’t seem to find anywhere that they changed anything with the 2024’s. Could it be different with the 4.88’s? This is the crappy pic they sent my from the shop. I have not had a chance to get under and look myself, but if I have to return the driveshaft I have to do it in the next few days or I’m outside of the return policy.

Curious, since I have a 24 JLUR w/4.88's except mine is 8sp auto, why are replacing the front drive shaft?

Just installed a 2.5” Metalcloak lift. I know I don’t “need” to do the driveshaft with the 2.5” but it’s recommended. Figured I’d just do it all once rather than get out on a trail and run into an issue.

Don’t they sell one for a rubicon?
No they dont. My understanding (I could be wrong) was that they are interchangeable, just the yoke is different with a Rubicon vs Non Rubicon. If you look at Yukon, Adams, Tom Woods and so on, none of them list a different part number for a Rubicon front drive shaft

Rear is different now but haven’t heard about the front. Front should be 24 and rear 28. Is the front a 28 now?

That’s what’s going me wondering. The photo definitely shows 28 spline yoke.

Like I said I was not there, I dropped it at a 4x4 shop near my work to get it aligned and swap the driveshaft. Full disclosure, I’m not exactly happy with the alignment. Caster was set at 5.2* and 5.7* (hence why I wanted to get it checked). They set it to 4.1*/4.3*. Said they have never heard of setting it as high as 6* and they set all of their lifted vehicles like this. My fault for not saying what I wanted to begin with, but I assumed a “truck” shop that is known for lift install would know. They told me they could fix it, but would charge another hour of labor at $145/hr to do it since their alignment machine said it was good.

Reason I bring up the alignment part, I would honestly not be surprised to find out they dropped the rear driveshaft and not the front. This is one of the reasons I was checking if anyone else has run into this with their 2024’s

I just went out and checked under the jeep. I can see the tool marks on the front drive shaft and none of the rear. Its pretty obvious they dropped the front one, but I have not heard of a 28 spline front driveshaft in these before.

Just got off the phone with Yukon support. They said that a Rubicon with a manual transmission is in fact a 28 spline. I can not find this same information anywhere else. The price they gave me for the new driveshaft was almost $1100. I dont mind having to move up to a 1350, but not at double the price.

Can anyone with a manual Rubicon confirm that is a 28 spline?

I paid $1559 for front and rear Adam's driveshafts. Something seems off.
