BNSF railway weighing potential strike in a couple weeks? Boo boo hiss hiss 🐍 🐍

Light a candle and say a prayer if your wrangler is not on a train (better yet delivered already).

Article on biz journals earlier today…. “A strike could begin in the next few weeks pending a 2/3 vote by union members”. There are over 17,000 BNSF workers.

My snazzberry left Toledo on the 8th. Move move move. Get off the rails!!

I did some Facebook stalking and found the Facebook page where the Jeep plant employees are discussing chip shortages, entire shifts being canceled, down time, using alot of temps, and current training classes this past week. Some of the truck drivers are on there as well.

A few post I'm like hmm, " taking selfish as a jeep rolls behind you. Are you the one that has been collecting my parts for almost a month."

However, they sound just as irritated as we are. But, I wonder if I message a random person and ask how do the jeeps get selected and can I slide them $2 to pull mine. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Huh? Three months later than you means ordering two days ago. Two days is fast for build and delivery! :giggle:
You get what I’m saying though. Like there are jeeps similar to mine ordered in December already in driveways. Others similar to mine ordered at the end of Dec/ early Jan that are D1 scheduled any there’s still not even a scheduled date for a bunch of October orders.

I watch the CS numbers to track what’s going on. For a short time the numbers were up but now have dropped significantly from earlier this month.

Welll my 10/21 order and my 1/11 order or on the same waiting for parts scheduling phase. Curious to see which one I get first. Both rubicon 4XE but both have different options.

I’m not sure, but this is what the dealer and I agreed on to place the order price wise. This was provided the day after I paid my deposit.
I’m glad I joined this forum. Feel like my salesman skipped a few steps with me to make it easier for himself. He ended up sending it to me after requested. Thanks!

Lucky!!! I hate that mine has been sitting in Toledo built and they won’t put it on a train 😔.
Congratulations! The Jeep safari adventure sounds amazing!
Yes, that initially sounds extremely racist of them but I hear they wait until they can fill a whole train car before sending it off. Perhaps it’s because you live in a more remote area where people hate Jeeps? No idea but that is a major bummer! 😡 That is definitely more frustrating that waiting on a dang train moving 20mph and stopping to take pictures every 5 miles. It’s like I’m on a damn tourist train.

Finally after 3 days of bugging them for pictures I finally got some. Not the best but at least I know it's really there, it looks like a Matchbox car in the pics. lol That should be the one and only time it ever sees snow! 🥶 Now the wait begins for the transporter.

We got an update on our escalated JLU today from our escalation advisor. Our scheduled build date moved from 01/03 to 01/21. He did confirm that there is a chip shortage impacting production volumes and the plant is trying to minimize the number of incomplete or in progress builds from being pulled from the line.

Good luck to all who have one on order and are still waiting. Just keep telling ourselves…it will be worth the wait…it will be worth the wait.

Just another reason it sounds like I might be able to sell mine the day after I get it for $14k more than I paid…. Ahhhh capitalism. Just think, if we were a Socialist or Communist country, you’d most likely have The Jeep by now, everyone would. It would be AMAZING! 😂

It’s not about what you know, it’s about who you know.

Hi,

Yeah that's my point, no telling what the hold up might be, maybe as simple as not building for the region you're in, I am north of Detroit so relatively close to Toledo, but may be last group to build for...

Hopefully the factory is past the 6+ month waiting game, as I sympathize with some of the people in 21 who really had a long wait.

Regards,
Jim
It is kind of strange some Oct or ealier orders are held up?

I am not sure what kind of algorithms are used or what priorities are involved with production scheduling? I think they currently try to prioritize "SOLD" orders based on when the orders were placed? I have herd "SOLD" orders get priority over normal dealer floor plan VINs. That theory certainly does not hold water for owners who see much later orders being built ahead of theirs.

I think most likely QC, parts shortage, logistics are probably the most common reasons for most delays. I do know a single missing item can delay shipping. During actual production and after production. Stuff like mats, head liners, HD swing gate, Mopar decals, and other parts installed by the 3rd party vendor. Shortages of those items have been known to cause delays after being fully assembled. They wait at the 3rd party vendor until everything is done before being transported back to the shipping department.

Full disclosure, this is just conjuncture on my part.

I wish it would let you track it from there too
Quick question (new to forum)...

How long between ordering and something showing up on crypto or Jeep servlet RADAR?

I ordered 12/29/21.

Cheers,

Jim

I haven’t heard that roll on/off stock has also had ocean shipping delays. They are completely separate unloading from the cargo ships. My brother is on top of that waiting for his Porsche to be built. I don’t follow it closely though. Now parts/materials….definitely.
I was told by a Mazda dealer they have inventory stuck on ships waiting to be unloaded. There are other issues causing delays with logistics. New cars already built in Asia are stuck at their ports are waiting for returning cargo ships to transport new cars back to America.

There are thousands of fully built cars waiting at Asian ports waiting to be loaded on to cargo ships. They are waiting for cargo ships returning from America. The returning cargo ships are delayed by a shortage of labor at US ports. Covid caused a labor shortage for unloading and transporting new cars that are already shipped to the US.

I ordered my Rubicon 10/27; the build sheet hit crypto 1/13. That is consistent with what Jeep Chat told me this week. Initial build is complete, but at the "vendor" for additional parts. No window sticker yet.

Maybe there is hope mine might be built soon. I ordered 10/30. As of 2 days ago it is still sequenced for build.
