Holy moly $5k, in tampa it was a refundable $1,000 deposit

mine is non-refundable, although I was told about a 60 day wait.. I did put in on my Amex so it is technically refundable anyways.

I’m not too devastated over the deposit amount as I do intend to put a large deposit down once the jeep arrives at the dealer. I’d imagine that we all intend to buy our pre-orders and we simply want to get them delivered in-time. But as I read this thread on a daily basis there’s absolutely no correlation between the date you place your order, the deposit amount, your build, and the delivery date. That’s that the part that seems unfair - it’s really all random.

And the numbers have been increasing again. I should have explained that there was a drop in numbers for a short time, then started to climb again.

Except it ... isn't random. At all. They're building the trucks in the order that makes the most sense to keep the line moving. They have to build based on parts availability, shipping logistics, and so many other factors. Building them in the order the orders were received would be one of the least efficient ways to build.

And the deposit is determined by each dealer, not Jeep ... how much you paid for your deposit has nothing to do with when they'll build the truck. You could buy the whole thing upfront in cash and it isn't going to expedite anything; that's between you and the dealer, not you and Jeep.

Just got an update from Rob, my Jeep is D1 Status with a estimated ship date of 1/26/22. Hopefully it's sooner than that!
