No regrets, I'm happy. Same as you, I really wanted Sarge 4xe so had to be a Sahara. I had locking differentials on my Tacoma and never used them and figured I wouldn't get use out of disconnecting sway bars in NJ. As previous post suggested, be sure to get tow and cold weather packages. I preferred the interior with the leather dash and no blue stitching, and don't love the Rubicon stickers on the hood (though I do like the Rubicon hood). Was also glad to have the running boards for the kids, but would obviously need to upgrade those for serious offroading. With the 4xe the Sahara gets the same axles and gears as the Rubicon, so it's less of a tradeoff between the two than other trim levels. I don't like the stock 20" wheels but upgraded those and the tires immediately, and very happy with the way it looks and drives now. Just passed 1941 miles and 2/3 were electric.

That's a ton of info in one space! Very cool yet strange to see. I'm so used to the traditional tach and speedo. Do you find it distracting?

That's a particular menu screen, not the main screen. It's nice that the entire display is customizable. You can set it to mainly show MPH if you prefer, though I do like to see my battery charge.

Thanks! I think I paid $1325, got lucky and a tire shop had some leftovers. If you look for a week or two you'll usually find some Rubicon takeoffs on Craigslist. I really wanted these wheels which were a little harder to find.

thank you for the pics! The bf Goodrich are the tires I really want!

Very nice and thank you all for the informative responses. My trade-off would be a bit more since the Sahara I am looking at would have the 3.0 Diesel so the axels and so other items would be a bit less than the 4xe or Rubicon so that is something I have to consider. I do live in Colorado so lots of mountains and off-roading available to say the least. LOL! But the other trade-off in getting the Sahara over the Rubicon would be that the Sahara they have in stock at my local dealership is almost $13k cheaper than the Rubicon they have. Decisions..decisions... LOL!

Just upgraded my 2019 Sahara 2.0 after 32K on the original 5 spoke Sahara wheels and Bridgestone all terrains. (Donor was a 2020 Rubicon with only 15K) They worked well but it was time for a change...

Included with the wheels and tires: TPMS which my Jeep automatically recognized on start up and the Mopar wheel locks. Nice! No change in suspension at this time. I have the HD Towing Package. Ride remains great, speedometer unchanged. Very happy! I'll give it a good test next week in Colorado!

Is there a big difference between the Firestone and bf Goodrich? It looks great!!

I have one just like yours - Sarge Green Sahara 4xe. Here is a picture with no lift, Rubicon tires (33" K02s) with Willys/Moab wheels. Drives well and fuel economy is good. As others have said, this is a good first step.
Thank you so much! I love the look of this!

There is a thread that ”confirms” that Sahara 4xe axles are the same width as Rubi axles. I put confirm in quotes because I did not read the thread, or research the source of the confirmation.
It really comes down to how much wheeling you'll actually do. Both are great choices.

If you do buy the Sahara then build it right - get the HD Towing Package and the Cold Weather Package. This gives you HD brakes, LSD w/Dana 44, heavier suspension, better electrics/battery, aux switches. All that's really missing is the lockers, swaybar disconnect, and Rube suspension & fenders. Oh and the Rubicon gearing and that great transfer case. :D

Add the steel bumpers to the Sahara and you can drop a winch in to make up for the lack of a front locker. I bought the Sahara and have no regrets but a Rubicon would have been good too - it was another $3K over what I paid for the Sahara.

Hey, this is just a start and everyone has their own take but my advice would be good for a Sport buyer, too. Sure, I didn't cover everything but again, it's your Jeep. Get what you want!!!

Or save some money and get a Willys like Tommy from TFL did and have that pile of cash for any cool add ons you want! Roll up windows aren't such a bad thing...

Hi! I’m new here and I have a 2021 SAHARA 4XE. I was set on a 2 inch Mopar lift with 35 inch tires and 17 inch rims. After a month of driving I’d like to keep my somewhat “decent” gas mileage. I have a friend selling me 5 brand new rubicon wheels and tires for $1100. Does anyone have a small lift they would recommend for the stock rubicon look? The leveled look. This is SAGE the SAHARA!

Here’s my Sahara 4xe with rubicon wheels/tires. This is on stock Sahara 4xe suspension, hopefully it gives you an idea of what the stance will look like once you change the wheels. I don’t think I’d want to add a lift unless I put on bigger tires. I haven’t had any rubbing or clearance issues.

Those look great too! The 20s are just 🤢🤮 not sure why Jeep thought they would be a good idea 😹

I'm not too picky about it. I'll use e-save on the highway on longer trips so I have electric left for quiet driving on local roads when the top is open. Around town I usually drive in electric mode as long as I remember to set it.

Thanks! The tires should be the same size, just a different tread pattern. Both are beefy!

thank you so much! There was a thread I found and the Sahara looked exactly how I want mine to look! I didn’t get the rubicon because it didn’t come in sarge green in the 4XE. 😞 now I’m trying to figure all of this out 😹
Which thread - i'd love to see
