With the Wrangler and 4Runner, it's my opinion the most desirable (and likely to best hold their value) models are the Rubicon and TRD Pro, respectively. When it comes to the RAM 1500's, are the Rebel models likely to best hold their value? Yes, I know the TRX is the most highly sought after model, but I can't afford one of those so I'm wondering about the Rebel.

Anyone here own one and if so, what has your ownership experience been like? Looking for the good, bad, and the ugly.

Thanks all!

I’d Rather Talk Jeep’s!
I owned a new (at the time) ā€˜06 Big Horn edition that I loved and still am hitting my head that I sold it. Sorry, don’t have any experience with the trim levels you have mentioned.

Haven't owned a Rebel but love the package. The used ones around here are commanding a steep price even before the chip shortage. After the Rubi is paid off I'll drop other debt for a year and save up a sizeable down and then order a new one built to the hilt to replace my ageing 2500. I was trying to decide between a Rebel and a Power Wagon, overall Rebel wins for me and my wants and needs. Good luck on your search and happy hunting!

Check out his video. This guy does a pretty good jib talking about his experience with his Rebel.

Back again with JL#3, 2 door Willys
I had a 2019 rebel 1500 with pretty much every option including air suspension and the giant screen on the interior. No complaints after a little over 2 years. The sticker was 64k I paid 54k and just sold it a few weeks ago for 48k to vroom (Who listed it for $55k). Loved the truck really was a hard decision to sell it but we had also sold our camper, which was the only reason I really ā€œneededā€ the truck. So I decided to get a 2 door wrangler when the used values were so high. Great truck.

I traded my 2019 rebel crew cab in for my 2021 rubicon. Only reason I traded it was cause I missed driving stick.

I was leveled on 35’s, rode great but mpg was a solid 12mpg average. The 3.92 rear end in the rebels makes a huge difference in drive ability compared to the 3.21 that you usually find standard on all the other Ram trim levels (I had a 4th gen big horn hemi with the 3.21’s), but the 3.92 definitely brings worse mpg, combined with less aero on the rebel.

Truck was super comfy and so quiet even with the loud exhaust I had on it. I do miss it, but just didn’t need a truck. It was almost kinda boring to drive with how quiet and easy to drive it was.

Turns out for 2022, RAM has a new G/T Package for the Rebel (and Laramie) and it has the gear shifter from the TRX instead of the rotary dial. I think my life is complete now ?

I know this is a Wrangler forum, but by chance does anyone know when the 2022 RAMs are available for order?
