When Jeep is stationary, turning the steering wheel very slowly causes the steering to stutter; it will lock up and then release and lock up and release, so instead of a smooth turn, it stutters:
There is also an odd noise anytime the steering wheel is turned and the steering pump activates. Note, I am not referring to the whine of the pump, this is a different noise coming from deep within the steering column:
It seems like something is wrong with the gearbox itself. My 2021 has the new black steel gearbox.
Has anyone experienced anything similar to this?
