They started adding this in 2022. It basically stops the passenger wheel from going into the car during a front end collision.

What about my side ;)? My passengers usually know they are on their own riding with me

Does the beam get hung up on obstacles off road?

Found some info about it on Gladiator forums. Thanks for pointing in the right direction.

The wheel coming into the car is only an issue on the passenger side. I think some folks mention it can catch things but I haven’t had an issue. It can be removed if it really bugs you. I have seen some YouTube videos on the topic, but I would personally keep.

It seems pretty solid... seems like it would push through smaller rocks or break sticks. If its meant to withstand collisions I could see it getting hung up on larger obstacles and having no give. Guess I'll see.

Remember that offset front end collision crash test that made the news because the Jeep flipped onto it's side? That's the fix.

I'm not sure how important it is in real-world collisions. It's there specifically to avoid flipping onto its side during that particular engineered crash test.
