Just snagged it yesterday. Dealer discounts several thousand and getting heated seat elements installed free (cloth so no heat ???‍♂). The screen is nicer than I expected, having the xtreme recon, heavier axle, screen and updates was a no brainer. I’ll get katzkin or something down the road.

Two questions why do they have the extra piece on the fender flares? Does it look okay I guess you get used to it? And does the winch that comes with it Is it cable or synthetic rope? And how much did you have to give for the Rubicon is it loaded besides leather So I guess that's three questions sorry

I don’t disagree with you. I know you can get well over 70k on a new rubi with options and that seems to be a lot of on road creature comforts. I identified the options I’d like to have from my previous upgrades on jeeps. To be able to get the upgraded axles (Hd tubes/brakes/4.56 gears)from and warrantied, is hard to beat. The fact that it comes with bead lock capable wheels and 35s is a bonus at that point. The lift could be higher but it’ll work for now, I suspect that with a bumper and a winch I’ll end up needing heavier springs in the front so like you said, upgrade upgrade upgrade.
Mine gets used a lot as a road trip vehicle along with hitting the trails, so I walk a line between capability and comfort.
So with the 456 axles and 35s if you put 37s you probably don't have to re gear do you ? Because most people are going with 488s on the gears with 37s so 456 is a lot closer than 410s I think it should be okay wouldn't it

Extra piece is to cover the extra width from the wider wheels and tires that would normally stick out on a standard rubicon. They actually look decent in person, just have to pop a plastic rivet or two out if fitting mud flaps. I can’t speak to the warn winch that comes factory as I don’t have it. Though i suspect steel cable for durability.

MSRP was 60,xxx. Dealer discounted several thousand and I made them add the heated seats. I wanted a hardtop rubicon without the fluff….and like others have said, I’ll personalize the details I want as I go. My options were pretty much the Extreme Recon package and hardtop.

What does the extreme recon Rubicon have over the regular Rubicon?

Factory 1.5” lift. Performance brakes and rotors. Longer shocks/sway bar links/ tailgate reinforcement, 35’s on headlock capable wheels, 4.56 gears, I’ve heard heavier duty axle tubes, but I know that the pan hard bar backer is raised and reinforced, extended bump stops. Front actually has longer bump stop tubes welded in.

I ran 37 on my gladiator with 410. It was fine it would be no problem with 456.

I dislike that grille. It looks too much like a Renegade to me, I don’t care for the renegade.

Yes and no. I live in the mountains and 4.10’s with 37’s would be no fun. Flatlanders would probably be fine.

color is anvil

I lived up by Yosemite at about 3500 ft regularly offroaded at 5000 to 8000 and commuted across the grapevine on I 5 over the pass at 4440. Yes. It would shift down too. 4th but it really wasn’t a problem. And at low speed off-road I did not even notice
