Hi Folks,
My first post on this forum and first question. I just purchased a 2024 JL Sahara. Black with the standard silver trim around the headlight buckets, grill openings and, driving lights in the bumper. I thought the vehicle would look better with just black up front. After looking at a few videos, it didn't seem to be a big deal to pop the grill off (even with the front camera) and try Plasti-Dip since it is supposed to be reversable. The videos I watched showed a fairly straight forward process of removing the grill and then removing the grill inserts and then the trim pieces. I guess I didn't realize that Jeep had made such a dramatic change in the grill from '23 to '24. Once I disconnected the camera and washer (reattaching is the subject for another post!), I realized that this is a completely different animal! I could see how the parts could have come apart but, for the life of me, I could not figure out how those parts came apart without a major effort. So being the lazy bum I am, I thought I'll just mask off the grill and "paint" the silver parts and peel off the overspray around the grill. Long story short, I spent a few hours masking, painting and removing the masking tape. I then spent a few hours cleaning the mess up as the Plasti-Dip got into every nook and cranny (which is by the way everywhere). This morning I searched and was unable to find any information as to how to take the bits apart. Has anyone found a source (video or description) on how to disassemble the whole assembly?
Thanks, Dan
