Hi, so i got my Jeep back today. Thank goodness, after a month long ordeal.

Parts they used:

53011496AD

So it looks like they are the same parts mentioned earlier in the thread but now have become available.
I also see it in stock and available now on the official mopar parts store. Where before it used to say discontinued. So i guess they must have brought it back. But i would call your dealer and let them know, i was on them and Jeep Cares every few days.
Hey, must not have scrolled down far enough. Glad to hear they got your Jeep fixed and back to you. I'm still concerned that I will get a quick fix, based on what the parts department just told me.

Yup, this is exactly the same issue i had. I also only had around 2900 miles when it happened. Sat there a month waiting on that part. Definitely reach out to jeepcares, i did and i think it helped raise the issue. I would have them open a case, and escalate to a specialist.

It was really strange as the dealer and jeepcares told me the part was discontinued. Jeepcares mentioned that perhaps they are coming out with a revision (which they should given the failures). So i thought when i got it fixed it was a new part number but it ended up being the same one. During that time when they got the part in, i noticed mopar e store showed it available as well for sale online, https://store.mopar.com/oem-parts/mopar-oil-filter-adapter-53011496ad.

Right now it says unavailable, before it said discontinued. And it was in stock during the brief period mine came into the dealership. Perhaps the "Discontinued" was a mistake, they realized it and now have to make more of them. I also called around various dealerships parts departments and it was out of stock and one dealer told me i was the 10th person to call that day.

So i have to think that they would get more in soon, hang in there. It's just a waiting game now i think.

UGH! What a PITA. Gosh, I have a trip planned next year in Moab, with Jeep Academy but this is not confidence inspiring to think this "new" part won't fail again. Dang! Thanks for the quick reply.

By the way, unrelated to this but out of curiosity what kill switch did you get? And was it easy to install? Thinking about getting one. Thanks!

Yeah that was what i was thinking too, i hope the part was revised but based on the part number its probably the same part, so hoping it doesn't fall apart again. 2000+ miles and failure is pretty sad.

It was the 41.22 Kill switch. I didn't have too much trouble installing it. I found a great place to install the switch. Only bummer is in the cold weather I can't remote start it before leaving work. I have it installed since August, and I would recommend this kill switch.

Quick update...my 392 is still waiting for a part.

The dealership confirmed what I already knew, it is the oil filter housing that is leaking. It is a two-piece part and its leaking where they go together. Jeep Cares has been involved and claims a part is on the way (multiple times now), yet the dealership says nope...nothings coming.

The latest as of yesterday (1-8-2025) is that a new part should arrive in 5-6 business days...per the parts department at the dealership. The only good thing is that my 392 is tucked away safely in my garage this whole time and not sitting at the dealership.
