Drove from NC to MD to pick up my ‘23 Willys 2-door from Ourisman (kudos to them on the 10% off MSRP deal, btw), then drove it home.

The crew at Ourisman was great… easy and fast transaction. I did learn that the they won’t be running another 10% off MSRP deal again, since folks like me who didn’t finance, didn’t buy extended warranties and won’t be using them for service make the deal unprofitable for them. Music to my ears! I already knew that none of the NC dealerships could touch Ourisman’s numbers for my build… this just confirmed what I great deal I got on this Jeep!

On the way home I took a bunch of local roads for a while to get some miles in at under highway speeds, then DC traffic kept me at around 50-55 until I was at about 100 miles. Limited it to 65 for another 100-150 and was probably doing 70 for about the last 50.

Punched throttle maybe 3-4 times while cruising per the manual, maxed at 5k rpm… no redline.

Across all that driving and including whatever the first 14 miles involved (odometer at pick-up), average MPG for the first tank was 25.0.

Filled it up with 93 back in NC and we’ll see what happens. First tank was on tires the dealer had at @ 42 psi so deflated to 38 and curious to see what that does to tracking, which was better than my 2-door JLR started out but not as good as the JLR post upgrades.

Anyway…. Glad to be back in a Jeep vs the rentals I’ve been driving since my JLR got hit. Happy with the JLW choice… freaking love the 2.0T / 850RE combo! Miss my stick, but don’t miss 17 MPG on a stock JLR.

All in all… psyched!!!!!

Happy Jeeping, y’all!

Congrats, great looking Jeep!

I ordered/bought my JLURD from Ourisman too as they had the best price I could find. As you mentioned, the crew at Ourisman was great! It was by far the best new vehicle purchase I've ever had.
I live in MD so it was a easy decision for me.

Didn't they just run another deal a week ago? Can't remember might not have been 10% though.

Haven’t looked, but from talking to them I suspect they’ll have conditions for a high discount (financing with them, e tended warranty plans, etc.). For deals like mine (no financing, warranty extension, etc.) they said 4% was the most they would offer moving forward. That would make the NC dealerships competitive with them… which was NOT true at 10% off MSRP.

Every time I drive the Willys it reminds me more and more that I made the right decision. No it's not a Rubicon but I didn't want a Rubicon. The Willys handles my needs well. I'm probably going to get a Gladiator Willys to replace my GMC work truck. It will see 30 to 36 thousand miles a year, 90% off road. The durability doesn't worry me but the reliability has me concerned. It's 110 miles everyday just on the ranch, taking care of wells, meters and battery's. It's an honest test, my GMC Z-71 can't handle it, it's beat the suspension all to hell. It sounds like somebody pulling a wagon full of pots and pans. We'll see if the Gladiator Willys can handle the life of a West TX Pumper.

Funny, I used to live in MD and now in NC.

Did you happen to drive an eTorque to compare to the 2.0?

Congrats on the new Jeep-Nice ride?. Suggest you at least try a tank or two of 87-the 2.0 in mine runs great on it. That’s what the dealer put in it when I bought it new, and that’s all it has ever had in it. Runs great, excellent mileage ( esp for a Jeep). Zero issues in my 2 years of use.

Nope. My wife is in a JLUW 2.0T and I really like that pairing (for a slush box it doesn’t totally suck). Test drives are fine, but you don’t really know an engine/transmission combo till you live with it for a while. Didn’t want to gamble.
