Drove from NC to MD to pick up my ‘23 Willys 2-door from Ourisman (kudos to them on the 10% off MSRP deal, btw), then drove it home.
The crew at Ourisman was great… easy and fast transaction. I did learn that the they won’t be running another 10% off MSRP deal again, since folks like me who didn’t finance, didn’t buy extended warranties and won’t be using them for service make the deal unprofitable for them. Music to my ears! I already knew that none of the NC dealerships could touch Ourisman’s numbers for my build… this just confirmed what I great deal I got on this Jeep!
On the way home I took a bunch of local roads for a while to get some miles in at under highway speeds, then DC traffic kept me at around 50-55 until I was at about 100 miles. Limited it to 65 for another 100-150 and was probably doing 70 for about the last 50.
Punched throttle maybe 3-4 times while cruising per the manual, maxed at 5k rpm… no redline.
Across all that driving and including whatever the first 14 miles involved (odometer at pick-up), average MPG for the first tank was 25.0.
Filled it up with 93 back in NC and we’ll see what happens. First tank was on tires the dealer had at @ 42 psi so deflated to 38 and curious to see what that does to tracking, which was better than my 2-door JLR started out but not as good as the JLR post upgrades.
Anyway…. Glad to be back in a Jeep vs the rentals I’ve been driving since my JLR got hit. Happy with the JLW choice… freaking love the 2.0T / 850RE combo! Miss my stick, but don’t miss 17 MPG on a stock JLR.
All in all… psyched!!!!!
Happy Jeeping, y’all!
