Figured I’d start a build thread.

I’ve got an order in through Glendale Dodge Chrysler Jeep (thanks to Jackson Ellis for such a smooth process and outstanding customer service) on a 2023 Sarge Green Rubicon 392XR. Jackson is having the Jeep shipped from the factory to AEV for the JL370 treatment, and once AEV is finished, I’ll pick it up at their HQ and drive it back home to Colorado, which will crush that break-in period fast.

I have some things planned beyond the AEV goodies but, for now, we wait… I’m currentlay in D status, awaiting movement to D1 status.

I’ve had a couple of Jeeps with AEV parts on them (my 2015 JKU Hard Rock Rubicon had the AEV tire carrier, fuel caddy, Pintler wheels, and 10A steel bumper winch mount which was produced by AEV), and my current 2021 Rubicon is basically a home-built JL370, but I’m looking forward to my first true AEV conversion vehicle.

I’m honestly a little sad to be giving up the yellow color, as it is so photogenic out in nature… it just pops. But the Sarge Green is a pretty classy, timeless color… especially on a Jeep.

I have a Sarge green 392 XR on order also. In fact I ordered mine three days after yours. The dealer provided me with a VIN but the Jeep tracker is just like yours and says TBD for VIN.

From what I understand, the Pizza Tracker doesn't update from C (Confirmed) Status to D (Firm Schedule; VIN Assigned), only from C to D1... Seems like a shoddy design to me.

It would be super easy to update just the VIN field on the tracker once the VIN is assigned, even if they don't want to have the overall tracker status change from Confirmed to Scheduled (to, say, hide D to C regressions). Even if there is a D to C regression, the VIN doesn't change, so no point in hiding it. Better customer experience. Better dealer experience.

That's cool. Not many of those HEMI TJ conversions exist. Kind of surprised to see it didn't have the highline hood / fenders...

Well, I guess I can finally start updating this thread... I've been spending too much time in the 2023 Orders thread, anyway.

A couple of quick updates since the last one...

Almost 3 months to the day after ordering, my 392 went into D1 status (11/22/22), and a couple days shy of 2 weeks later it was in production (12/3/22), and four days later it was built (12/7/22). A couple of days after that (12/10/22) it was delivered to a local AEV dealer in Michigan (diverted to this dealer by the dealer I purchased it from in California).

On 12/20/22, I got this picture from my buddy at AEV. He said they had already removed the interior bits, and they had clearly done some other work (notice the AEV badging on the fender below the antenna).

Now the fun begins!

Yesterday, my buddy at AEV sent me these pictures. He said that it is safe to assume all of the stuff in those boxes will be on the Jeep in the next couple of days.
