I pick up my JLUR from Gupton on Tuesday - I'm assuming mine will have it as well. Who will be first to remove it???
Most likely whoever puts on rock sliders first. I'm guessing that many have already been removed.

I haven't seen it in person but it sounds like all recent builds have them. Mine should be here this week so I'm guessing mine will have it.
Can anyone confirm that it is welded on? Looks like it is just bolted on but I recall a post about it being welded.

It's like 5 posts above this one. Part of it is welded.

Had mine removed/cut off when doing the AEV 2.5ā€ lift. Itā€™s a two piece bracket that the first part is bolted and a second internal bracket is welded which could interfere with bigger tires. Iā€™m going 38s so I removed it.

I do not sorry. The shop did it and didnā€™t take any photos but it was a much smaller piece.

Just found this thread.

I have a ā€˜22 JLU High Tide which comes with the XR package. I had my Rock Slide Engineering steps installed the first week and hadnā€™t noticed this bracket upon delivery before the install. Just checked now and obviously the shop removed it but left the welded secondary bracket (never asked me before hand).

How should I handle the remaining bracket?

Leave it and paint it? Remove it and paint (I donā€™t want to risk damaging or weakening the frame)? Or cut off the bottom in line with the frame and side wing as close as possible to the frame as well to not have to grind on the frame itself?

I may eventually move up to a 37ā€ from a 35ā€ tire, perhaps flex it out to see if there would be any clearance issues.
