Can anyone tell me what this is on a brand new 2022 Rubicon? Factory error or legit new part and reason? Located behind passenger front wheel in front of rock rail.

It looks like a part that might help prevent the infamous crash test roll-over, where the front wheel gets pushed under the rocker and flips the Jeep...

Added: Is there a part number stamped on it? Maybe it's a "Tire Deflector Bracket" P/N 68596661AA (Discontinued)

My first thought is a factory mishap. Part of the automated cart that carries the frame or body (can't see what exactly its attached to) through the assembly line?

Hard to read when zooming in, but there appears to be numbers and/or letters stamped into it. Maybe looking those up will come up with something?

Odds the online tracker will show she was built on a Friday?

My 22 Sport 2-door has that as well. The bracket is very substantial & attached to the frame with large bolts. Looking at the 4 corners of the frame, there are good places for lift points at all corners except the right front which is a mounting point for a skid plate. Based on this I believe it is a lift or floor jack mounting point. This is my best guess, I see no other function for it.

My 2022 JLR has it too. I just did a tire rotation and it was right where a jack might go. I didnt use it, but it made sense.

Seems related to a fix for the crash test rollover.

But man, it looks like that thing would catch all over the place on a trail.

Yes, it actually hangs below the bottom of the frame. It is not on any other 22's on our lot. Somebody mentioned jack point above, but it's only on one side not both, so I throw that theory away.

What engine you got? My ‘22 JLUR 2.0 doesn’t have that.
