After 5 years of being Jeepless, I traded in the Chevy Colorado (multiple electrical bugs) this past February. Drove off the lot with this 2022 JLUR 2.0T, and couldn't be happier with my decision. Wasn't in a hurry to start modifying, but a little overtime worked, plus a Teraflex summer sale, is going to expedite the process. Teraflex 2.5" base kit, Sport LCAs, Jounce bump stops, rear track bar bracket, and Falcon 2.1 monotubes ready to go. Oracle LED taillights already installed. Now to settle on a wheel and tire combo. Thinking Patagonia M/T or STT Pro in either 35 or 37 with an eventual re-gear on Method 706 or Dirty Life DT-2 (bronze either way).

Nice Jeep and great choices!

I told myself I wouldn't modify my Rubicon suspension for at least a year... then I got sick of belly dragging on tougher trails and picked up some XR takeoffs and a Metalcloak 2.5" Gamechanger at 6 months of ownership. 🤣

Love the 706's! I would have loved a set in matte titanium, but couldn't justify a color change on a brand new wheel. Decided on 704's to go with the rest of the parts I haven't found time to install yet.

Picked up another piece to the build while at the Invasion this past weekend Courtesy of the wife! Black Rhino Abrams. Now to decide on a tire choice. (Any suggestions or experiences welcomed) Probably going to go with a 35x12.50 for a bit until I can regear and go to a 37. Also got my sunshades in and put on last week.

The Abrams wheels are going to look great on your build! I'm been running 37" Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my past 2 Jeeps and current Jeep. They're great both on and off road. I like them because they run true(r) to actual size, are quiet and are made in the USA.

With the 8-speed, I went almost a year before I re-geared. The new auto and 2.0L T does a great job of covering up not having the perfect gears. I eventually re-geared to 4:88's which put me back to stock performance on the 37's. Keep the pics coming✌🏻

How did the size jump affect your MPG? Also have read/heard that some had issues holding 8th gear. I have an 80 mile ride to work, and 80 back home, albeit only every 3rd day. Would much rather buy a quality set once and not a “cheaper” set now and others later.

You will definitely see a hit in mpg. 8th gear depending on terrain is where you notice the 4:10/37's...she really prefers 7th gear unless it's dead flat and no head wind. Buy once cry once right?

If your headed towards 37's and a regear as your end game, don't buy the tires twice.

Successfully voided my warranty, at least on the suspension, today! Had to take a second look at the box after I installed, because I thought they had sent me the 3.5 inch lift. After 6 hours of cussing, and a few moments of “redneck ingenuity”, the @TeraFlex lift is on. Set the Falcons on the performance Setting for now. Overall the lift was easy to install using a floor jack and stands. Did run into an issue with the rear track bar bracket that appears to have been pressed backwards during the manufacturing process. Literally is completely backwards from how it needs to be. Now just waiting for my closest @Discount Tire store to call and say that the Geolandar M/Ts are in.

Yep..go 37's with darn near 4 inches of lift in the front.
Are you planning on bumpers and winch?

Well, since I was only expecting 3 inches max, I already have 35s on the way. I do plan on adding bumpers and a winch in the near future. I’m guessing that after a few hundred miles, which won’t take long, it’ll settle in a little more. Only drove a mile or so through the neighborhood this evening. Will have 30 days to run the tires, and still be able to change my mind. Main factor was not wanting to re- gear at the moment. Have a 160 mile round-trip work commute that is far from flat.

Wheels and tires complete, and although it tastes like vinegar to say, I am glad my wife urged me to not go bronze on the wheels. (Plus she paid for them). The gunmetal Abrams against the black paint are better than I could imagine. Those Yokohama M/Ts truly are quiet (for an M/T) too. If the windows are up they are barely noticeable, and if your radio is on at a normal volume they are silent. Also very happy with the service at @Discount Tire in Elizabethtown, KY. Fast, easy, and made sure everything was “to the nines” before I left. Now on to getting everything in line to start with bumpers, armor, and a winch.

@TCFD40,

Thank you for the shout out to your Local Discount Tire store, as well as posting the outstanding photos of your Jeep with the new tires and wheels installed. You wife did a great job, they look amazing.

I second your thoughts on the Yokohama Geolandar G003 MT tires. I had a set for a couple of years on my FJ Cruiser and was amazes how quiet the were and how well they handles.

Thank you for your business.
