But are 6spd and 4.88s allowed with XR? Looks like XR requires ERG/25R (eTorque and 8spd auto) and 4.88s are NA w 25R.
The XR press release from this summer highlighted the 6 speed / 4.88 pairing to get a best in class 100:1 crawl ratio.

Even accounting for the loss of the affiliate discount, a 2022 would cost me $210 less than my build, and I would have gotten NAV (I was Alpine-only).

The additions of Proximity and the 8.4 are real value-add for 2022 buyers.
Bingo.

Was it worth waiting an extra 6 months? Meh, debatable.

For me, I'm fine with the newest model year coming in at less than my 2021 build I was about to pull the trigger on. I too was going with proximity and 8.4 screen on my rubi build. Great value adders.

Id love to see some info for the 2022 2 door. Hopefully they offer 4.88s 🙏

This slow roll out is driving me nuts. Reminds me of how the Broncos went.

Thank you for posting this! I've been wondering if I missed out by buying my 2021 (not delivered yet). I was certain that Anvil was coming back and a larger screen with U5 and I'd have to cancel and reorder. It all looks basically the same.

What is Must Have ERG?? What does the ERG stand for? Never mind I see it means the etorque engine now. I just don’t get why this is a must have the 2.0T has more torque so who cares. I personally would have ordered the 2.0T but I want the XR pkg so 3.6 it is..lol..However I am super happy Snazzberry will be offered again it’s my favorite color!!

When placing an order, is there any way to negotiate out of the destination charge? Or do I just need to suck that up? I have a 4% below invoice offer locally on a 2022 JLR but the destination charge is on top of that. Just wondering what people's experience here is.

Anyone know if the '22 Rubicon will continue to come with the red dash when paired with black interior?

I'm debating picking up a '21 JLU Rubicon off the lot tomorrow, or picking up a '21 JL 2-door Sport and driving it for a few months while waiting for a '22 JLUR. I know the latter probably makes no sense to anyone, but I'd consider doing it if I could order the Rubi exactly how I want it. The one on the lot is close, but not quite there. Not to mention that it's priced @ MSRP.

I think that’s pretty much in there no matter what. But I could be mistaken.

I really want a 6spd manual and XR package but obviously that doesn’t exist. So, do I go Rubicon manual or do I fold and go Willys XR and accept automatic transmission? Is the XR Willys going to look/feel significantly taller and more rugged than a non-XR Rubicon? The new standard stuff on the Rubicon is tempting too. (And yes I’m lazy, I don’t want to have to do anything aftermarket or void warranty.)

Does the 2021 alpine system have active noise cancellation? That stuck out to me.
