Especially because Car and Driver got 4 seconds flat with the XR. That is quite the variance.
Car and Driver's 0-60 times should always be taken as absolutely ideal conditions with no regard for vehicle longevity. They do everything under the sun trying to get the absolute fastest 0-60 time they can such as manually starting in 2nd if the auto will allow it. They also omit the 1ft roll out time which in many trucks is .3-.5 of a second. In the wrangler 392 that was .3 so they actually had a 4.3 0-60.

On another note didn't Motor Trend get a slower time with the XR vs. the regular? I get that the tests may have been under different environmental factors etc. but still.

So according to Motor Trend, the XR is slower than the non XR both 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile (by almost 3/4 second).

No reason to even look at those numbers anymore.

I cant believe there are still people who don't know that the Bronco Sport is a completely unrelated vehicle to the real, full size Bronco.
Sadly I think even Bronco Sport owners- some of them I am sure jumped the gun and bought the sport even thinking they were getting THE bronco...

But when you pull up behind a Bronco, it looks so much smaller for some reason. Not intimidating or impressive in the least.
There is a BIG difference between the Bronco Sport and the Bronco. The Bronco sport is more comparable to a regular compact SUV (closer to a Ford Escape):

Jeep Wrangler JL 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Wins Motortrend Four Wheeler SUV of the Year Award 1641816167106

And the full sized Bronco is actually larger than the Wrangler:

Jeep Wrangler JL 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Wins Motortrend Four Wheeler SUV of the Year Award 1641816210847
Jeep Wrangler JL 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Wins Motortrend Four Wheeler SUV of the Year Award 1641816220601

With that being said, if availability or money wasn't a factor, I'd go Wrangler 392 all the way. Congrats to Jeep on the Motortrend SUV of the year win!
