I hear what you're saying, but have you seen what the costs are to swap even a Sport with a 392 aftermarket?Personal preference and opinions had a lot to do with it, sure. I liked the idea of a V8, seems like the overall weight and application of a wrangler (with mods) could benefit from a v8.
For me, it should have been an engine upgrade that costs a couple of grand more. Like the 5.7 upgrade on a Ram 1500 which is a $2,300 upgrade
the 392 wrangler forces me into a whole package that I didn't want at a price tag of roughly $30k.
