Ok cool. I ended up contacting the dealership and they were wondering the same thing. So the Sales Manager called the factory and had the Cali emissions stuffed removed.
Hmmm... if this is true than it must be an opt-out option. Highly unlikely there will be any opt out option. I can't believe we still have no concrete information on this matter.

I have 2 lines on my POC:
YCF California Emissions States Order
NAE California Emissions
I ordered my 2022 392 in Virginia. I asked my dealer about this and he stated it means I can register it Cali(?) but nothing is diffrent about the Jeep.

Mine 2022 order has:

NAA Federal Emissions

I'm in NJ. I think I need a California, not Federal - Does anyone have any experience with this?

I have the opposite problem :-(.
Dealer fixed my problem. I don't think I would have been able to get it titled in NJ without this change. They said that the catalytic converters are different in the CA version.

Mine went from Federal to CA emissions:

Always so much dumping on California.

If you believe in "States rights" then surely you would think that states can set their own emissions standards when they think it necessary.

If you believe that business owners have rights to decide how to manage their own companies consider that most auto makers voluntarily choose to manufacturer all of their vehicles to CA emission standards. To them that makes business sense.

I am not going to defend California's regulatory environment but regarding their emissions standards generally, I can personally attest that there are very real reasons for why they are what they are due to California's topography and climate. I grew up in LA in the 1980s. Smog was so thick and brown you couldn't even see the mountains or downtown skyline on many days. You could smell the exhaust burning your nose and lungs. I was told by my grandfather who lived in LA from the 1920s and onward.that this still was much better than in earlier decades. He told me that there were days in the summers following the War, before auto emissions controls were required, that you couldn't even see more than two blocks away on account of emissions being so out of control. That people were getting sick routinely from it. Was really bad.

I don't know. I like the concept of maximum HPs without government throttling. But for this there are real reasons. This from a very libertarian minded Jeeper.

While my 95 Dodge PU was still under warranty Ca required gas to be reformulated to include a new additive to burn cleaner and of course the price went up. My mileage dropped from 12-14 to 8-10. Took it to Dodge due to the 33% mpg drop and after extensive testing was told “ it’s the reformulated gas , sorry everybody’s mileage is way down “ After they found out the new additive was polluting the ground water and causing cancer it was taken out of the gas and of course the price was raised to take out what it was raised to put in in the first place. Also, I do not believe that my truck burning 33% more fuel polluted less.
