I figure this is the best thread to ask, does anyone know when jeep.com build tool is usually updated to reflect the new year of vehicles (2021)?

Once dealers get 2021 vehicles on their lots they will have both 2020 and 2021 builds on the site so it can point to what vehicles are on which dealers lots.

I got a canned response for D1 but it seems like they added something new to the prepackaged response that is good news.

All materials needed to build your vehicle have been gathered, and the unit has been sequenced for production. Production on 2021 model year vehicles is set to begin this month.

Jeep seems pretty conservative to me about over promising with customer service, so “this month” hopefully means real soon, like the date it was scheduled to start on back in May, Aug 10th I believe, or earlier.

Me (8/3/2020, 12:40:39 PM): any idea when 2021s start production?
Amber (8/3/2020, 12:41:45 PM): It is expected to be early August, so literally any day now, I have not seen any enter so far but I am expecting to see them by mid week.

I'm glad you get better responses. The only agents i get give me canned bullshit.

Same here. Always “parts have been gathered. No estimated build date”.

You should have seen me in high school.
In all seriousness, the agents generally have no idea what they're talking about aside from the canned responses, I doubt they meet with the president of FKA FCA. Customer service does not end chat on you so I just type a few extra sentences after updating status and hope for some non-reliable office chatter.

As I mentioned in the tracking thread, my fleet manager told me today that my 2021 Rubi ordered on 7/22 has a 9/1 build date. Which is pretty much what I thought it would be.

My 2021 order was pushed back a week like most. The plant is pushing hard to get 2020s out before they can start 2021 production. The plant employees are not happy as they are being asked to work 7 days a week for a month possibly. We shall see.

I don't like the idea of rushed or unhappy plant employees. To me, rushed and unhappy means means screws and bolts start being forgotten or not torqued right. Other stuff not fitted right, etc. That is no bueno.

My feelings as well.

They constantly complain about the work environment, parts unavailable, fires and shutdowns, etc. Sounds like a crazy environment. Then again, my source is disgruntled employees on Facebook.

I guess what I'm struggling to understand is if they are that unhappy, if conditions are that bad, why don't they just quit? There are tons of unemployed people right now that would be more than willing to step into their shoes. Especially to make all of that overtime pay on the heels of not working through the pandemic.

And if their concerns are related to getting sick, I sure hope they are practicing masking, social distancing and staying home when off duty to prevent illness.

If you read some of their comments on payday they are very happy.

I imagine it is no different than any other workplace. There is always a few BMWs that are the loudest. (Bitch, moan, whine) Im sure most of the thousands of people working there are like us. Just doing their jobs and getting paid. I wouldn’t worry about it.
