The resisters get hot.
I used tek screws to hang them from the sheet metal flanges in rear fenders.

I need to do that. I just installed the Oracle flush mount taillights and want to mount the resistors better than my last attempt 😂

I just got done installing the Oracle flush taillights and they are REALLY sweet. I didn't need the resistor because we were already running OEM leds. But on my last build I needed resistors and had to use one of those body spring clamps.

Glad I tested out the heated mattress pad before blindly using it. It draws current even when switched off….a lot of current. The switch/controller also gets very hot whether switched off or on. Oh well….the search continues.

If you wired a switch in series with the wire that supplies power to the circuit there will be 0 current draw when the switch is in the off position since the switch would mechanically disconnect the circuit. The controller feels warm due to the potentiometer being used to control the temperature, this shouldn't be a problem if the company that manufactured it properly sized those components.

Any switch that's rated for more or higher voltage and sized properly for the load of the circuit will work just fine. I'm not sure if vehicle wiring has different standards than what I'm used to but a heater circuit is rated at 125% of the full load amps for the heater load. Meaning if you had a heater with a FLA of 16 amps the entire circuit must be rated for 20 amps. You'll also want some form of circuit protection. A resettable circuit breaker would be the best option imo, but a aR-type fuse that's sized correctly would work too. If you do introduce any new wires make sure those are sized accordingly as well as any termination points and you can sleep easy... and warm!

Beautiful Jeep... and love the mods. Gotta say though, those wheels would look MUCH better on my Granite 4xe.... when you get ready to swap them give me a holler!

Fishbone Off-road tailgate table. I like the latch system, but did add two small grommets to stop the slight buzzing sound they made when hitting bumps.

Is the table sturdy enough to not wobble at all holding two gallons of water lets say, or is it a little flimsy? I just bought the fishbone fenders and was on the fence for the table. My JK had a Justice Off-Road MOLE set up that was very solid.

It is a solid table, definitely does not feel flimsy.

Hey, can you post a pic of the bottom part closed? I'm curious if this could work like the slipstream to help secure that bottom area. I found it on Amazon, but no one had the bottom part closed. Thanks!

Added these bracket adapters and mounting plate. It’s meant for mounting a Rotopax, but there is plenty of room to drill additional holes to mount other stuff. Ahhh….that 2 gallon Rotopax will give me the confidence of knowing I can go an extra 3 miles if I need to 😂

I really like that setup. Is that a custom bracket or something you found somewhere? I looked at RotoPax's site and didn't see a setup like that on there... might have just missed it though. Any info is appreciated!!

Here you go. Also, since we are on the subject, would you know if a fastback style soft top rear window would clear this shelf?

I got the entire setup from Retrofit Offroad.

Perfect, thanks!
I have no idea about the fast back soft top fitting, but that's a great question. I am thinking of getting one of those as well and it would be a bummer if it didn't fit on with the shelf.
